Anyone that voted for John Kerry is unacceptable as a senator.
Voting for Kerry in a leaning Democrat state is a plus. As I mentioned, I wouldn’t vote for the guy but certainly don’t mine forcing the Democrats to have to fight another front in the national battle for control of the Senate.
I’m desperately trying to contain my total lack of enthusiasm about his announcement.
So am I. I posted this because I thought the guy was crazy. But there are national implications so I decided to shine the best light possible.
Also because if NH votes a Conservative again, that will be a real accomplishment.
Make it happen.
THE HEALTHCARE LAW may sink DEMOCRATS in more places than expected, especially blue/purple states.
didn’t Smith one in FL and got 1% in a primary or something?
meant run in FL
- He had an almost flawless conservative voting record in th eHouse and Senate.
- He renouced the Republican party and joined the Taxpayer party only to rejoin the Republican party.
- He was defeated by a GOP-e candidate Sununnu Jr. in a primary.
What's not to like?
He and scott brown would be an improvement if they were elected. He would be a bigger improvement than Brown. But, Smith is not going to be elected. Better try and get Brown.
Based my thought process on his Florida effort and being wishy washy about entering this race for so long.
Yuck. A flip flopping fruitcake with no chance at victory. I thought he lived in Florida now?
What’s wrong with NH? They want to run Scott Brown. Why can’t they find a viable candidate from the state? Shaheen can be beaten.
if this is the best the GOP can do, we might as well just close it down
Harry Reid should spend the rest of his miserable life in the desert with rattlesnakes and cactus to keep him company. Both match his prickly self.

The guy won 2 terms in the Senate and three terms in the House.
His voting record was close to 100% conservative.
He was an early fighter against the GOP-e in the Republican party.
He was the only politician in DC who was willing to help the Miami based Elian Gonzalez family. He even went to the gates of Andrews AFB to try to get Elian released.
NONE of those things are done by a person who is, as you called him, "wishy washy".
I wouldn't call somebody with a strong conservative voting record a "flip flopping fruitcake".
I wouldn't describe somebody who was elected 5 times to congress, as having "no chance at victory".
Didn’t he campaign for the popular John F. Kerry in 2004? That might make him electable in NH, but probably not.
I don’t trust any Yankee, and I trust New Hampshire Yankees even less.
We have seen what they do to us with their first primary. Something we desperately need to change,
We have seen them sell us out time and time again.
Good, if all you say is true then I retract my remarks. I do not know him or his history personally. If he is a truly a conservative and can win, GREAT! However, others on this post do not agree. For the sake of the country I hope your assessment is right.
Then again if what the poster in post #37 said is true, then I would withdraw my support.
