Has the NFL brass lost their minds? Now their increasing political correctness is extending to opposing gun rights.
Daniel Defense, one of the nations leading manufacturers and retailers in the firearms industry, was willing to pay top dollar for a commercial in the 2014 NFL Super Bowl. But the commercial -- emphasizing personal responsibility, family security, and fundamental rights -- was rejected due to the rules the NFL has set into place for [Daniel Defenses] category, according to Guns & Ammo.
But Daniel's Defense does not even violate them...
The NFLs Advertising Policy addresses several Prohibited Advertising Categories, including guidelines for ads featuring alcohol, video games, movies, prescription drugs, and, of course, firearms. So the 62-second ad features NO firearms, and Daniel Defense was even willing to swap out the companys rifle logo at the end of the ad with an American flag -- but the NFL rejected them a second time. The firearms portion of the NFLs Prohibited Advertising Categories states:
5. Firearms, ammunition or other weapons are prohibited; however, stores that sell firearms and ammunitions (e.g., outdoor stores and camping stores) will be permitted, provided they sell other products and the ads do not mention firearms, ammunition or other weapons.
According to these guidelines, Daniel Defenses Super Bowl commercial does not violate NFL policy for two reasons:
·Daniel Defense has a brick-and-mortar store, where they sell products other than firearms such as apparel.
·The commercial itself does not mention firearms, ammunition or weaponry.
The ad complies will all league rules and regulations, but the NFL considers the ad to be too offensive to air.
Do you find this ad "offensive"...?

Father: Its been a long road getting here, and a lot has changed since I got back.
Now this is the center of my world, and my familys safety is my highest priority.
I am responsible for their protection, and no one has the right to tell me how to defend them.
so Ive chosen the most effective tool for the job.
Announcer: Daniel Defense. Defending your nation. Defending your home.
It must be the silhouette of that scary AR at the end of the ad that made Goodell and his band of pussies to pee themselves.
this is evidently the age of arriving at standards VIA Pluralism.
we dont allow sponsors whose products contain alcohol...except when we want to.
maybe obama can go to work for them when hes finished....scrwing up the nation as a whole
If you read the TRN article at the link, it says that Daniel Defense offered to replace that silo with an American flag -- and was rejected again by the NFL. They are commie creeps.
Damn, everything appropriate I could think think to say here would get removed by the moderator. Use your imagination.
If your last name is Gibbs a slap to the back of my head would be an honor.
Just don’t waste good.
When will they ban this gun-hating liberal from commenting on official NFL broadcasts, then?
Nice but, I love the ending of the rejoinder. Too funny
None of the links work - sounds like BS trolling to me. Anyway, the NFL doesn’t allow “issue” type ads. Fine by me...
As Bud tastes like piss there ads are O.K. the Left and NFLs standards are the lowest.
The NFL has people ALWAYS on ‘roids...
The fights and rages are a symptom of steroids.
The NFL sucks.
They think they are a Government in their own right.....
They are ruining the game of football already and doing something stuoid like this will only hurt them in th end.
What links? The link to TRN and their source and video links work fine. And they also point out how the NFL allowed gun-hating Mike Bloomberg to run a gun control ad at this year's Super Bowl, so they most certainly do allow "issue" ads -- the liberal kind.
Years ago I watched a few NFL games a year a few playoff games and the SB. I was a casual fan at best. In the last few years it dwindled down to just the SB and I didn’t watch the last few at all and any interesting commercials can be viewed online after the game. This is similar for me for all TV sports not just the NFL. No single reason just a combination of many that has seen my interest fall off a cliff. I occasionally read the sports section to see what is going on but that is about it. I am already out the door NFL and nothing is really enticing me back into the fold. Adios and thanks for the memories.
I’ll be watching the Puppy Bowl with my son instead of a bunch of thugs and hoodrats from the National Felon League.
Football is my favorite professional sport, but the NFL just lost a significant amount of respect with me, and I'm a 44+ year Dolphins fan. Moving forward, I'll be purchasing much fewer NFL products and watching fewer of their games.
The NFL is becoming sissified, and this is a perfect sign of that fact.
If the NFL wants to slap gun owners in the face, they can find out just how many of us there are, and just how valuable our patronage is.
NFL commercial are lately filled with gay inuendos.
I will not be watching the Stuper Bowl any more......although most faux conservatives will
It’s time to put down the thug NFL. The libs will kill the NFL with their insane policies and the league is going along with the suicide. The NFL needs to die sooner rather than later.
Ditto, except substitute the Giants for the Steelers. I will go to the range, since it ought not to be too crowded. Exercising my Constitutional rights is FAR more important than watching an over-hyped GAME and supporting its advertisers.
