It is for me. As a man of principles there are things I will fight for. And when I when I write, ‘I will fight for’, I do not mean ‘I will die for.’ If it ever comes to a shooting war, It is all about making the other sorry bastard die.

Liberty minded Americans own guns. Liberals want to confiscate guns from......*liberty* minded Americans

It doesn’t require a PhD in rocket science to figure out why they don’t want us to own guns.

If the only reason we wanted guns was to rob gas stations and liquor stores they wouldn’t care at all.

It has been for some time now. There are liberals who insist it's only the gun manufacturers or the NRA who are responsible for the current state of affairs but they're only fooling themselves.

I cite Washington state initiative 676, the 1997 attempt to lay down draconian handgun registration and storage requirements, expected to pass widely enough in Seattle/King County to carry it through the state. Instead it was trounced 2-1 even in the liberal counties and 9-1 in the conservative ones. SOURCE We got the usual "we'll be back" stuff from the antigun nazis but in fact they haven't.

That's the first time I realized I wasn't alone on the issue by a very wide margin. As usual, the locus of infection was an ultra-liberal city in a relatively conservative state that was accustomed to dictating the lives of everyone else. If they couldn't win there, then, it isn't going to get any better here, now.

That's why the gun prohibition effort is concentrated on regulatory agencies headed by unelected and unaccountable officials, protected by an Executive that doesn't really care what the voters think. When this hits the ballot box, the grabbers lose, as they did in Colorado last month. My hat's off to the folks behind that.

Moreover, earlier this week a third Colorado state senator who supported gun control--Evie Hudak (D-Westminster)--capitulated under recall pressure and plans to relinquish her office.

Woo hoo! First I've heard that news.
Makes my day! (we have a law for that here in CO)

I think gun control is the one issue that a lot of hard core leftists will push even when they know it hurts them politically. I know the Clintons did.

The reason is that they just like us, realize how important it is.

Either their minions will control the people via taking away their teeth or the people will ultimately have the power to resist them and maybe be successful.

Gun control is all about control period.

Suggest search NRA and Allen West's comment. The Adolf obozo has added another tier in his effort to rid Americans of their ability to defend themselves and their liberty with personal firearms. We all know about the government's purchases of billions of rounds of ammo over the past two years and how that resulted in an ammo shortage for the public and ammo prices to skyrocket. Although a few congress critters spoke of investigating the purchases, there was absolutely nothing done other than lip service. That ploy worked so well that the Adolf obozo's EPA has now gone after one of ammos basic components by rendering the only lead smelting facility in all of the US to permantly close at the end of this month. The smelter located in Missouri just couldn't come up with $100 million to upgrade the facility to meet the EPA's demand (not congress'). (FYI: Obozo recently provided Warren Buffet $600 million tax dollars for train rail upgrades and expansion). As Jan 1, 2014 all lead used for ammo will have to be imported and the government will be in control of those imports as well. Good luck affording ammo if it can be found. This smelter info references when the Adolf obozo stated that he is working behind the scenes on gun control. Not to be haughty but time is not on America's side and a crystal ball isn't necessary to see that this dude plans to pull the plug on America while he is still in the WH.

Three communists have been kicked out of the Colorado legislature; the so-called “laws” they enacted, however, are still on the books. If you think the Republicans are going to undo the damage, I’ve got some stock to seek you in one of the most profitable unicorn ranches in the mountains of Kansas.

It's becoming more and more so.

In 1959, a majority (60%) of Americans wanted to make possession of handguns illegal. It's unthinkable that such a position would be held by the majority today.

This is only true is contested states. States, like Maryland, where the democrats have uncontested control of the legislatures, gun control is definitely on the front burner.
