""We are not sure why these bites are occurring more frequently than normal"

I'm sure some 'scientist' will soon find some link to global warming.

**We are not sure why these bites are occurring more frequently than normal**

Two theories come to mind:

1. Global warming
2. Bush

That man had those nice shiny artificial lures in the water and yet he was “dangling foot!”

Someone has to say it: He should have had a bigger boat.

Wow. We were swimming around Maui spring of 2012. No sign of or mention of sharks then. Now they’re shutting down beaches. We took a boat trip out to a diving site and spent the better part of the day. It was wonderful. We did decide however that given the length of the air plane ride, these old folks didn’t need to go again.

“That’s why we are conducting a two-year study of shark behavior around Maui that may give us better insights.”

...then what? Another 2 year study of human behavior around Maui sharks? A 2 year study of humans acting like sharks? End result? When sharks are around, stay out of the water.

Bit his foot, that is what happens when you dangle bait. They call it fishing.

I have seen sharks many times while diving in that area. Once while heading back to the boat, a small (4ft) grey grabbed my dive buddy’s fin right off of his foot.

I recall many years ago and a recently engaged couple were sailing in a small boat in Miami bay. The girl was dangling her left hand in the water and a barracuda bit off her ring finger - the bright diamond.
