This afternoon, Katie Couric ran a long segment on her daytime talk show, Katie, about what she called the “controversy” over the vaccines against human papilloma virus, or HPV, an infection that causes cervical, throat, penile, and anal cancers. She featured one mother who says that Gardasil, the HPV vaccine made by Merck , killed her daughter, and a young woman, seated with her mother, who said that Gardasil had caused years of illness that made her think she might die.

Because that's what leftwing nutbags do - they gin up hysteria over some issue so they can crusade against it. Couric's only error was that she didn't read the memo from the leftwing uberlords that said "We like Gardasil and want every young girl to get it so that we can maintain the idea of consequence-free whoring." Since the days of DDT, leftwing nutbags have been making their money by wailing about how one thing or another is going to kill us all - nuclear power, fracking, global warming, GMOs, incandescent light bulbs, you name it.

Forbes won’t get much sympathy here for it’s attempt to rescue Guardasil injections in eleven year olds from criticism.

Many families find 30 shots on infants through adolescence a bit much and even flu shots remain suspect in some quarters. Guardasil came along and broke the barrier.

As for Couric, she posesses a radical fear of cancer, due to losing her husband and sister, and Forbes must have a stock pick on the manufacturer of Guardasil, to be seen defending the drug on children.
