Working for a private employer is not like working for the government where the level of pay isn’t necessarily a function of the value of an employee’s work and contribution.

In the non-government job market, once the linkage is broken between the value of an employee’s contribution and their pay the free market economy is dead.

But isn’t that what the leftists want?

It sounds like massive crowds of two and three people are gathering to protest.

Their surface arguments (though not their real reasons) for the minimum wage are all predicated on the assumption of

“to each according to his needs”.

“Is that free from work or free stuff from Barry’s slush fund for those who refuse to work??”

They probably get welfare supplement.

I’m sick of hearing about the low wages of FF workers. The ones complaining are on the bottom rung. They can move up the ladder if they want.

A general manager at most FF stores makes a good living. But that little fact never gets any ink.

Most of these people are retired seniors looking for extra money to supplement their pensions, young kids looking for extra cash as they continue their education, and illegal invaders who stole into my country. VERY few rely on these positions as career commitments.

And not an ounce of altruistic instinct between them. These protests are about raising their own wages and harassing small businessmen to do it.

Yep, let’s boycott fast food to help them out. Then they can get paid nothing and have no job at all.

I love the smell of liberal logic in the morning, reminds me of the old cow pasture.

Pretty soon, City of Detroit retirees will be lining up for fast food jobs.

They are lucky to have jobs in this crappy economy.

And supplemental income supports, too. EITC, SNAP, etc.

Why spend $ 15.00 when they can pay for it with a EBT card? Close the businesses down and let the bastards starve to death.

I always thought low wages were an incentive to get off your dead ass, acquire some skills, and find a better job.

I guess that isn’t the case any more.

Why don’t they quit, if the work is so oppressive?

Slaves didn’t get paid.

Actually, a lot of them did, especially ones with skilled trades. They were hired out and the slave owner kept a percentage. Many slaves bought their own freedom that way.

The sad thing is that antebellum slaves kept more of their earnings than modern Americans. Even Medieval serfs kept more of their earnings than modern Americans.

As my old boss used to say...”IF you don’t like your job, you can always hit the gate!”

Why work for “slave wages” when there are better jobs out there begging for help?

Yours is the question of the moment. It doesn’t appear that the actual restaurant staffers are the ones picketing.
The rest of your question could well be,”How many of the “strikers” actually have real, legit jobs?”
Probably their “real job” is being a ‘striker’ at the target of the day.
