State Senator Thad Altman, R-Melbourne, has introduced a preemption bill for knives that is very similar to the state's firearms preemption laws.
If passed, Altman's bill would safeguard the right to carry a pocket knife across Florida. Sen. Thad Altman

The "Uniform Knife and Weapons Act" would eliminate local knife ordinances, which differ across the state.

I Love Florida!
Not too sure about a state where the lawn moves at night.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
“Not too sure about a state where the lawn moves at night.”
I get that. There are a lot of places in America though where the lawn moves at night. I used to live way out in the middle of nowhere in the NC Mtns. A complete 180 from here. Might consider going back but for 3-4 ft of snow every year. Watching the country get colder and colder every year makes me less and less likely to go further North than Florida.
With warm weather and being the Gunshine State Florida has its perks. And if you stay off the coasts it’s very sweet South. You might think you were in any number of Southern States. Wall to wall good ole boys - less the hills:)
Not sure about civil penalties against public officials or municipalities that fail to repeal their current knife regulations or seek to pass more. It seems that should be a felony with serious jail time or else the public will continue to be victimized.
It’s also a state of infinite weirdness.
I suspect you can handle a crawling lawn :-)
I’m jealous of your vistas. Untamed Australia is magnificent. Good for you.
