Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), speaking at a forum on women leadership on Wednesday, said immigration is a woman issue, because the male has either been deported or the father “is not present.”

“I think that folks who have dealt with refugees and immigrant families see how much it impacts women, because so often many times, the male is not there. Either he’s been deported or the dad is not present. And immigration is really a woman issue. It’s a family-centered issue,” Ros-Lehtinen said at the forum sponsored by Politico. …

You’re defending a RINO. That’s all that needs to be said. Satan quotes scripture out of context (like when he used Psalm 91:12 in Matthew 4:6 and Luke 4:9), but the context I provide seems to be frightening you rather than making you think.

It’s politicians that have been nominally “conservative for the most part” (the definition of a RINO) with the little leaven of liberalism starting to leaven the whole lump that have damaged the USA a great deal. And may even deal the fatal blow. This thread is about exactly that problem.

You are mistaking my conclusion about what you said as my misquoting you, but I never did misquote you (which is the definition of lying about something you said). It is more fair to say that you believe I have an incorrect opinion about what you said.

My opinion about the meaninglessness of one allegedly being “pretty conservative for the most part” stands, and you are free to disagree with it at your own peril—but unfortunately, it is also the peril of the country.

But here, I was expressing my opinion. But you called my opinion a “lie” when an opinion by its nature cannot be. It is right, though, to say that paying lip service to a single issue is not the same as being consistent with one issue, and I do agree with that; so I will retract that too.

I don’t like the abandonment of border enforcement, but the fact of it long ago set the table for intentionally attracting a foreign labor force, and we all know that. The results was predictable, and the blame belongs to Uncle Sam, for dereliction of duty. But oh no, the punitive measures are to fall only on the heads the well baited laborers, decades later, who have by now raised innocent children here?

Heaping punitive measures on whole families because we lured them in nearly smacks of entrapment. I say we take our medicine. Own up from our stupid mistakes, shut down the border, enforce the laws going forward.

People notice the hypocrisy of a bait-and-switch operation when they see it, which leads me to believe something close to amnesty is more popular than is even suspected. I believe whether it is anathema in certain quarters or not, that majorities see the accountability and responsibility for this dire circumstance lay squarely at the feet of the US Government.

As Scarlett said, “tomorrow is another day”, but The US should have already come down like a ton of bricks and sealed our border, by any and every means known to mankind, if we expect to survive. The Dems are risking our security for votes, and so did Bush.

I am addressing specific Mexican populations who pose no threat, but are in school, with working parents/grandparents, and who know no other country but this one. I just don’t believe we will break up families and ship off parents from their children as if they were Al Quaida.
