Plus, it’s not legal. Shooting outside of Garner criteria is grounds for civil rights charges for violating the 4th amendment rights of the target.
The state trooper may have mistaken one of the children for a family dog.
And let’s not forget the LAPD cops who were firing at two Mexican woman in an SUV when they were searching for a bald-headed black guy (Christopher Dornier) in a different make and model vehicle.
Plus the surfer guy who was fired upon in Huntington Beach while he was driving a Honda Ridgeline.
That was one of the crudest posts that I have ever seen here.

More like “we enforce”. That said, A lot of good cops die or get seriously injured in the line of duty in pursuit of real criminals. But of course that’s not to excuse the out-of-control psycho cops.
I’m starstruck with your post. Well stated.
Not excuse, but prosecute when justified, as certainly is the case here. I'd also like to see Baton Boy get some major 'time out'.
My respect is for the authorities who fired this 'roid ragin' loser.
He was reassigned to the anal inspection squad. /s
Assault does not automatically warrant death.

Actually, that depends on the assault.
Crowded highway... there are no freeways near Taos. Just a minor thing.
So true. But in this case, I wonder.
I double checked the video - you are correct, that wasn’t a highway, or a particularly busy road at that moment. My mistake. I was thinking of the earlier footage where the minivan was being chased. The road there was busy, but when the shooting started it does look like the road is fairly clear. My bad!
That settles it - if someone assaults you, and you don't feel the need to kill him during the assault, you can always have a do-over once the perp is no longer assaulting you and can also have a shot at some kids in the escape vehicle. Who knows. Maybe you can even wait for them at the grocery store the next day and shoot him in the back.
I respect cops and could not do their job specifically for the same reason many of them shouldn't be doing the job - too many reasons to be afraid/pissed enough to pull a trigger unnecessarily. My hat is off to those who do a good job day-in and day-out and keep their wits about them. Far too many have no business being in the business and seem to be way too trigger happy. Dogs are just the beginning - more people coming into the cross-hairs than ever before.
What I did comment about was the attempt to pull the 14 year old out of the vehicle after he assaulted the first state trooper. Assault on a police officer is a felony. If a felony suspect retreats to his vehicle and locks himself inside, he should not be surprised when the police bust out a window to get him. He is going to jail.
That a 14 year old would assault a police officer does not bode well for that kid's future. He probably doesn't hesitate to fight anybody and some day soon that other person is going to have a knife or gun.
