I for one am tired of throwing money down a black hole.
That impulse to extend unemployment benefits is IMO a major contributor to our having such long-term unemployed now in the middle class.
Is this a Keynesian sickness, or a Leftist one, that they cannot comprehend that throwing money at a problem almost universally makes it worse, not better? They’re trying to do it with unemployment, they’re already doing it with healthcare and several other sectors of the economy, and they want to do it with the MinWage too.
The added prosperity would mean more wealth available to give as even more benefits and thus yield still more prosperity which can be used for still more benefits ... etc. An economic perpetual motion machine.
And it'll work just as well as all the other perpetual motion machines have.
Oh, grief. In 2009, my company was advised we would be shuttered and closed in 2010. I and every other employee with any sense spent the next few months hustling to find another job. Most of us left our then job and went right to work at our new jobs. Yes, we had advance warning, but we all made sure we had another job. Oh, and these were not lateral moves. I had to start over, as did many others.
I am really getting sick of hearing about how taxpayers need to pony up more taxes to support the unemployed. 99 weeks of siphoning off from taxpaying Americans is not long enough?
Stupid is as stupid does.
Thanks gooblah.
Negative arse clown.
He’s still blaming Bush?
Or we could just remove you Barry and let the economy take off on its own. I vote for removing you.
Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. But he said the economic lifeline is in jeopardy
Right, that’s like telling a drowning person,
Here catch this chain!
Idiots, maroons!
