Alan Gross has been rotting in a Cuban prison for going on five years for the offense of distributing computers and cell phones to Cubas tiny Jewish community. Not only is Gross an American citizen, he was an employee of the U.S. State Departments Agency for International Development when he was unlawfully arrested.
That the Obama administration has not seen to his release is outrage enough but to witness the handshake between Obama and úRal Castro makes the stomach turn. Even without the Gross case, the nature of the Cuban regime should be enough to cause our president to find some way to avoid a handshake. Shameful day to be an American.
TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Foreign Affairs; Government
KEYWORDS: castro
Short point, but valid.
Hard to keep up with all the indiscretions of this Administration though.

Obamas Handshake with BOW TO CastroFixed it!

Like Chamberlain shaking hands with Hitler.
The appeaser-in-chief even has a slight bow while he shakes.

I’d like nothing better than to see Alan Gross released even as I type this, but, and it’s a big ol’ but, who, but the very brave, or very foolish, would go into a totalitarian police state and distribute communications equipment without the express permission of the host nation (i.e. said police state). And who knows what kind of back channel negotiation has been going on? I’m guessing Havana wants to swap him for some Cuban agents we have.

He kept it to a handshake? What restraint! He probably wanted to hump his leg.

.... I read an article last week that revealed that Obama was planning to shake Castro’s hand at the memorial ..... This was a planned event.
