Johnny Jones who attends school in Fawn Grove, Pa., was suspended from school for a day after he made an imaginary bow out of his pencil, pulled back an imaginary string and shot his imaginary arrow. That was back in October and now his parents are deciding on whether or not to bring legal action.
Ten-year-old Johnny Jones was disciplined under the school's zero-tolerance weapons policies. Apparently he asked the teacher for a pencil and while he was walking back to his seat, a classmate held his folder up like an imaginary gun and "shot" at Johnny. Johnny played along and drew his pencil and imaginary "bow" and "shot" an arrow back. A girl in the class told the teacher who then took both boys into the hall.
Johnny's mother, Beverly Jones, was contacted and explained the seriousness of using "firearms" as horseplay. The principal got involved and Jones was suspended for a day under the school's strict weapons policy because they deemed his behavior as "making a threat" to another student using a "replica or representation of a firearm".
The parents want the expulsion rescinded and the punishment taken off the boys permanent record. The school district, which is part of the South Eastern School District West, has until Friday to respond before Johnny's parents decide whether to move forward with legal action.
Pencils can be dangerous weapons.
Back when I was in 5th grade, a girl (who was obviously several years older than the rest of her classmates) tried to stab the teacher with a pencil. That was the last time I ever saw her.
That was an educational day, to say the least.
We must ban pencils and give all the kids free iPads.
The whole country has descended into madness. If my grandparents and their peers were still alive, and I recounted all these daily stories of what’s going on in America, their minds cound not even mentally process such sheer insanity. From the absolute lack of common sense found here in these school settings, to the jaw-dropping depths of depravity found in the overall culture.
Sue these f'ers. And then sue them again just for fun.
So do I but good luck with that. It is beyond the tipping point. rev@lution is the only road back.
I am glad I don’t have any boys.
I don’t know what I would have done to the teacher and her principal, but it might have fatal. I’d have to do it - for the children, y’know?
You do know liberals are waging war on young white male children... right?
It’s why they have ‘take your daughter to work’ day but not ‘take your son to work’ day.

These people are nuts!
-—Not to insults nuts, of course.
Have they banned table top football yet; the game with a piece of paper folded like a triangle?
Those sharp corners could put out an eye when a field goal is “kicked”.
Some one individual is responsible for making the decision to enforce this rule in this way.
That individual needs to be sued. And attach his/her house to the suit.
Any lawyers out there want to do a pro-bono free speech violation suit?
Getting cash at settlement won’t stop 0-judgement lunacy. Need something to outlaw the practice.
Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Dont try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
I’ll go with ya, but I’m guilty for tossing sharpened pencils into the ceiling panels.
“We must ban pencils and give all the kids free iPads.”
School in Hutto TX already giving free iPads to spanish-only speaking students.

Good luck on that. My grandson just interviewed for a job and the background check came up with several things from high school, one of which he has a letter rescinding the charges (which were to be removed from his record) another happened in a locker room in a class which he never had or even knew or had the teacher. He graduated from college and this came up in the interview because of the background check.
Johny is learning a few lessons from this.
Government can be extremely stupid because human beings run it....and bitches be snitchin.
33 posts, as I type and not one astute Freeper has pointed out that bows and arrows, even if imaginary are not fire-arms. You guys are getting sloppy :-)
Imaginative fake toxophiles are no more danger than imaginative fake marksmen.
OK I’m with you guys...guilty of blowing spitwads through straws to see who could hit the very center of the clock. And, I’m a chick. Sad, I know. :-)
Other places too.
I guarantee some people in those skool systems are getting kickbacks from Apple.
Not sure if this has already been brought up, but someone pointed out previously the school district’s motto:
Providing Progressive Education to Strengthen the Global Community
It can be seen at the top of the Supervisors webpage:

I will post info to the related threads, too.
