Boehner lashes out at conservative groups on budget deal

Republican leaders defended a modest budget deal that would maintain government operations through 2015 amid conservative opposition that could scuttle the legislation in the House.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, lashed out at conservative advocacy groups that have encouraged GOP lawmakers to oppose a budget framework unveiled last night by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.

"They're using our members and they're using the American people for their own goals," an animated Boehner told reporters at the Capitol. "This is ridiculous."

Note to Boehner:

“Leave your key and RINO horn with the secretary. Here's a cardboard box.

Also a guy named Bill Engvall says, ‘Here's your sign’”

These are the words that I hope he'll hear right after the next election.

Say goodnight bonehead.

I’d like to see this guy spouting one of his commentaries against the conservatives and an 18lb sledge hammer land on his head. Think of this, second in line to the presidentcy and there is no change in thinking between him and the Kenyan.

Listen Boehner, we’re not as dumb as you think we are.

We’re not about to let you and your ruling class buddies scuttle the sequester or render it lame and subject to change on your whims.

The Sequester stays.

And you must depart, and soon. The sooner the better.

Boehner can bring it to a vote on the floor where all of the dems and only about 18 Vichy republicans or ‘squishes’ can pass it.

But then there is the Hastert Rule. The rule is that only House legislation which a majority of republicans support will come to the floor of the House for a vote. Boehner has and will violate it. But he also has pledged to abide by it.

The thing to understand about Boehner is that he has sold out, meaning he is controlled by others that control his money. Those ‘others’ are the ones we should be targeting. Some of the powerful of these others are defense appropriators.

At this point I think Boehner goes against the majority of republicans because he is comfortable either way, and because he can be vindictive at those that are mounting a primary campaign against him. He has two primary challengers.

When the Tea Party Republicans took Congress, they should have immediately put one of their own as Speaker. It was a big mistake to let Boehner take the Speakership. Now the consequences are felt by all.

Well, they don’t call the GOP the stooopid party for no reason. Once again, they are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Boehner is definitely the best-dressed, best-coiffed drunken SOB in DC.

Boehner is in a seat so safe that he will remain in office until every blue-haired grandma in Ohio goes to heaven. He personifies the RINO deal: Safe Seats in return for a goodly cut of the swag. When RINO hands reach across the aisle, they do not come back empty.

Tea Party? What? And screw up Free Lunch withoout irksome responsibility? The RINO's status quo is too good a deal to fool around with.

Republicans will face intense pressure over unemployment benefits
BY GREG SARGENT
December 11 at 12:24 pm
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2013/12/11/republicans-will-face-intense-pressure-over-unemployment-benefits/

[snip] The imminent expiration of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program for 1.3 million Americans is mostly being treated as a fait accompli in Washington... (Dems have created an interactive map showing how many people in each state stand to lose benefits.)... This strategy includes placing Op ed pieces by Democrats in papers that serve the districts of top Republicans, such as this one by Rep. Sander Levin in the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the largest paper in John Boehner’s home state. The game plan is granular: One Democrat points out to me that stats are available on how many would lose benefits on the county level, and that Dems are trying to push these numbers into the coverage, because it is tangible for people in local communities. [/snip]
