Black Friday Zapped by FICA TAX;CHRISTMAS SALES TO COME
Vanity | 12/12/2013 | Self

FICA (Social Security) taxes were increased and they didn't think it would have an impact? Was the Obama Administration thinking that higher taxes would have stimulated sales this Black Friday?

But, NO, instead sales are flat, the Mainstream Media cannot figure it out, and the stock market is slumping.

Wait for the Christmas figures to come out.

Oh, and what does this portend for 2014s Black Friday and Christmas with Obamacare taxes kicking in. For that matter what about the economy next year?

Every extra dollar take for taxes , higher insurance premiums and deductibles, and higher taxes to pay for Medicaid , and Obamacare subsidies is a dollar out of the general economy.

The bring Obamacare into the mix when the economy is in the toilet is a mark of insanity.

Liberals believe higher taxes increase economic activity. They’ll tell you this with a straight face.

There is absolutely no way people can pay the increases in health insurance premiums Obamacare is causing. The economy is going to tank next year. I know many people already cutting things way back. Christmas this year should be more grim than last IMHO.

Most of the gibmedats celebrate their own version of big-spendin’ Christmas sometime in late January/early February. That’s when the fraudulent EITC “tax return” checks come in. Then it’s all big screen TV’s, Blu-ray, expensive booze and smokes by the carton baby!!

not just increases in healthcare premiums for crappy insurance, but huge increases in paying out of pocket co-pays and deductibles

not looking forward to a general population of people with even treatable contagious illnesses, people that cant afford or wont pay to see a doctor. Will impact the schools and workplaces

I think their “reasoning” goes something like this -

rich people just sit on their money and that does nothing for the economy,
so, when the government taxes it away from them and spends it,
it is a boost to the economy.

Their mistake is in the first assumption.

Let's see, an over 25% wage cut should about do it. Just scale back the American worker from 40 hours to just under 30 hours.

I hope everyone is giving new underwear to their Democrat Member of Congress for Christmas, cause by January, they’re gonna need it.

The Producers in a capitalist system do not ‘sit on their money’. Their money is a tool to be used to create more value for their products for their customers.
The Rentiers are more able to ‘sit on their money’, however. They do perform a vital function but the system is skewed more toward value capture that, IMHO, is where the imbalance is.
Labor needs to recognize their new role and create value for themselves. There are many needs to fill and much work to be done.

I was in a large Walmart supercenter last night, just two weeks before Christmas. There were only two cashier lanes open with only about three people in line to checkout at any given time. I have never seen it so slow there at any time during the year let alone for Christmas. I think this may go down as one of the lousiest Christmas sales periods EVER.

Yesterday, I was at a Target in a typically busy Christmas season shopping center. Out of about 20 registers only 6 were open. One was empty and I breezed on through after paying.

Upon getting home, one set of Christmas lights (LEDs) was not the right color. I went back to Customer Service (no wait), got the right ones, purchased them and breezed out again in 5 minutes.

Your right. The Grinch (O) probably stole Christmas here as well.
