EXCLUSIVE -- Tea Party Patriots Founder Jenny Beth Martin on Budget: This Is Why We Have Primaries
breitbart.com/Big-Government ^ | 12-13-2013 | Robert Wilde

Posted on 12/13/2013 1:28:20 PM PST by servo1969

“Tea Party Patriots oppose this budget deal and are calling on Members of the Senate to vote against it,” she said. “However, there is little doubt of the outcome. Senators who are facing a primary challenge (McConnell, Graham, Alexander and Cornyn) will vote against the budget because they know their constituents oppose it."

"However, because there is a 60 vote threshold, their votes will be irrelevant and they know they are safe to vote against it so they can tell their voters they did the right thing," Martin explained.

“This deal really exposes the true colors of several in the GOP establishment and their Washington political games," she stated. "It seems that during the ‘Defund Obamacare’ or ‘Exempt America’ battles, Speaker John Boehner and the House GOP played ‘good cop’ by standing with conservatives, while the establishment in the Senate played ‘bad cop.’ Now that so many established members of the Senate are facing primary opposition it comes as no surprise that they are now supporting the conservative cause, while Boehner and the House trade places,” continued Mrs. Martin.

yes, don’t vote for what your constituency wants, vote for what Boner and the establishment RINOs want!

Astute observation —

However they are all up for election next year and hopefully we will have some fresh faces.

I note that Ann Wagner who replaced Todd Akin fell right in line with Boehner.

Maybe he will challenge her for that seat in the primaries.

Too late. The Senate GOPers shoulda stood with Cruz when they had the chance.

I hate the GOP establishment, but I also don’t recognize the validity of organized tea-party groups (unless they are local in scope).

I was thinking at the start of the year that Cantor, Boehner and Ryan might pass tuition for illegals but there would be 41 votes against it in the Senate.

The Senate is full of RINOs but they want Harry Reid to give them some scraps.

The vote to stop this in the Senate is the cloture vote, where 60 votes are needed. A vote for cloture is the same as a vote in favor of the budget.

I’m done holding my nose. If the Dems take total control of Washington, so be it. That would actually be a good thing in a sense, because there would be no RINOs to blame.

Send the RINOs packing, in the General if necessary.

I'm tired of being taken for granite [sic].

Interesting. Thanks for posting. RINOS do so much damage to us along the collectivist continuum. That’s how they roll…over all of us. 100,000 conservatives could volunteer to watch each politician - to examine every vote, word, move to make sure their campaign promises match their actions. At the earliest sign of dissociation they could be called to account, asked to explain who pressured them, asked to resign, or be recalled.

Ann Wagner is for amnesty as well. Todd Akin was with Tancredo and King. The Club for Growth and these other wimps couldn’t beat Akin. I brought this up to Roy Blunt when he was considering amnesty. Akin beat the others because he was a reliable conservative. They tried to attack him on earmarks when no one really cares about that issue except “extremely conservative” Jeff Flake.

https://www.stlbeacon.org/#!/content/31701/ann_wagner_profile_070213

Wagner said “I understand the need for reform. The system is broken and, if we do nothing, it is the de-facto amnesty that we have currently. We need to do something.”
