Here’s what I find wrong with that cartoon:
Outside of our circle, it’s meaningless. People are
programmed to conclude: “Tea-bagger propoganda” They’ve been conditioned to react this way.
It’s too much information, focus needs to be to a single point. Drive it hard. Rock the opposition on it’s heels and force them to refute your claims. Whoever needs the fewest words to argue the point wins. That’s the dem way and it’s still winning.
It negatively depicts a photogenic character who’s image remains positive to a critical # of Low Info voters. Image rules.
It’s a cartoon. Only those who agree will ‘get it’. Those who don’t won’t even look; in fact they’ll get mad and even more stubborn.
That doesn’t make it a bad graphic—only a limited graphic and one not very likely to change the minds we need to change.
Humor and irony will be of little use in this campaign.
