Oh puleez, I will bet any amount the boy is as healthy as ever. And the lesson would never be forgotten.

However that is not the kind of punishment I recommend.
The most effective punishment I found was to take away the cell phone for a day or 2.

By ‘we’ I meant our brave American young, (mostly), warriors who fought and died there.....but you are 100% correct and I agree with everything you said. I do not, or would not, blame ‘em one damn bit for not signing up either. I am now and always have been a huge fan of our armed forces. Homeless vets, vets not receiving the care they deserve, low pay, (they should have their pay tripled at a minimum I think), and on and on make me sick. What Ryan pulled has made me sick. I wouldn’t vote for him again if he were the last person on earth.

You know, and its not even a matter of deserve

That’s not it

They were given a non negotiable contract. Not the same as a corporate deal or a bookmakers deal or a union negotiation. It is different. It is what they sign for. Part of the benefit package not we’ll re negotiate this or this might change. A lot of things change in the military

They say you can get out at a certain point but not if there’s a war on they say you’re going to Germany and then nope whoops no go to Minot ND, but this is written in stone. You cannot now tell recruits they’ll get a particular retirement if they take this away. And that changes everything.

It’s like an employer says you’re making $17 per hr, you sung a contract quit job buy a house and move family then find out no its 1 $13 per hr

You don’t do that. If its done you don’t say give the guy what he deserves. No. It’s not up for negotiations. It’s what he agreed to. Negotiations already told him what he deserved its not on the table. There’s no trust no new employees no trust from the family no love nothing

I’d enjoy chaining the father to a tree and beat on him in the same fashion.

Parents definitely should have leeway for corporal punishment of their own children, but there’s a line you don’t cross into abuse and torment. This father crossed it, imho.

It’s not about deserving, really. It’s like this. I think over the contract. A lot is small print and up for change. But I’m counting on a certainty. Retirement income. $ 84 g is suddenly pulled out of my lifetime plan that affects my plan. That’s a huge chunk out of my plan for a retirement house.

After getting shot at a dinged in the desert after missing major family events I’m thinking what did i do that for these swindlers

See?

It’s not deserving like you would compare it to a food stamp recipient it’s breach of contract that future potential recruits won’t go near.

They’ll stay home and take their chances with a traditional IRA and NOT go to the Desert and spend Christmas with the camels
