2014: The Year of the Primaries
Red State ^ | By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary)

Next year Republican primary voters will have an unprecedented number of choices for whom to nominate to the United States Senate. There have never been so many primary challenges against such high-level and long-serving members of the Senate.

There are now primary challenges in Kentucky, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kansas, and Wyoming. The challengers vary in degrees of viability, competence, and skill. Not all of them have been endorsed by conservative groups; not all of them necessarily will receive endorsements. But all of these states are represented by entrenched ruling class Republicans of yesteryear. They are also all states Mitt Romney carried by a comfortable margin.

As such, irrespective of the details of each individual challenge and challenger, conservatives should celebrate the growth in election competition in itself. At the core of our free market belief is that choice and competition perfects the outcome of any product or service. Politicians are no different.

I fully KNOW I won’t be voting for the Republican RINO traitor Isakson in 2016. I also am not going to vote for the Republican GOPe endorsed candidate to replace Chambliss, or anyone he endorses for his Senate seat in 2014. Not a damned one of them.

Maybe we should consider and pray for 2014 to be the year of a New Great Awakening, God being the Keeper not only of Israel but also of America. Only when the American People come back to God will they be able recover proper rulership over America becasue they will have proper rulership over their own individual lives.

Politicians will never be the answer. They are, like government itself, the problem. Fine, get the best ones you can, but don't put your trust in them. It is up to the American People to put a permanent clamp on the mischief of politicians by demanding and getting permanent cuts in taxes and unflinchingly throwing out the bums who try to raise taxes or grow government. This kind of eternal vigilance against political mischief will only occur after a miraculous spiritual awakening takes place on a massive scale. America itself was created and preserved by God's miraculous intervention and her life will be extended by yet another of God's miracles.

Somebody needs to have the guts to say that to John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

Politics takes money. The Republic is in peril. The Founders pledged "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor". What can we do?

Senate

Support Matt Bevin to oust Mitch McConnell in KY

Support Dwayne Stovall to oust John Cornyn in TX

Support Joe Carr to oust Lamar Alexander in TN

Support Lee Bright to oust Lindsey Graham in SC

Support Chris McDaniel to oust Thad Cochran in MS

House

Support Eric Gurr to oust John Boehner in OH-8

Also, press your Representative to NOT support Boehner for Speaker - or Ryan, either!

Support Katrina Pierson to oust Pete (NOT Jeff) Sessions in TX-32

Support Bryan Smith to oust Mike Simpson in ID-2

Support David Hale to oust Adam Kinzinger in IL-16

I believe there are 19 democrats and 14 republicans up for election in 2014.

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?Class=2

I know we see info about Republicans that are possible changes. Are there any on the Democrat side that could be replaced with a Republican?

Landrieu comes to mind as a possibllity in LA. Others?
