AMMAN (Reuters) - Western nations have indicated to the Syrian opposition that peace talks next month may not lead to the removal of President Bashar al-Assad and that his Alawite minority will remain key in any transitional administration, opposition sources said.
The message, delivered to senior members of the Syrian National Coalition at a meeting of the anti-Assad Friends of Syria alliance in London last week, was prompted by rise of al Qaeda and other militant groups, and their takeover of a border crossing and arms depots near Turkey belonging to the moderate Free Syrian Army, the sources told Reuters.
"Our Western friends made it clear in London that Assad cannot be allowed to go now because they think chaos and an Islamist militant takeover would ensue," said one senior member of the Coalition who is close to officials from Saudi Arabia.
Noting the possibility of Assad holding a presidential election when his term formally ends next year, the Coalition member added: "Some do not even seem to mind if he runs again next year, forgetting he gassed his own people."
The shift in Western priorities, particularly the United States and Britain, from removing Assad towards combating Islamist militants is causing divisions within international powers backing the nearly three-year-old revolt, according to diplomats and senior members of the coalition....

We know for certain that was the entire idea behind Barry trying to get us embroiled in it to begin with.
Is Barry now saying that an Islamist militant takeover would cross a red line?
Sounds like a signal to the rebels to use it or lose it.
Expect the rebels to do something really desperate now to get attention and prompt another scripted and unsupportable response by Washington.
Guess its time to ‘find’ some convenient mass graves full of useful soon to be dead villagers that the rebels can blame Assad for and prompt an outraged response from the White House...

With the SAA killing hundreds of islamist radicals every week, it’s time to figure mr assad isn’t headed out yet.
No doubt that all these players will be there. Gog’s invasion will be Islam’s doom brought on by the 2 witnesses near the end of the 1st half of the tribulation before their murder and then glorious ascension Rev. 11:3-12). The Lord will use them greatly in the first half for they are invincible for 3 ½ years and have absolute Divine power to use at will. I kind of am a lone wolf on this but it all fits. Also remember that the A.C. does not rise to absolute full power unto the 2nd half of the tribulation or the GREAT Tribulation (Rev. 13). Dan. 11 – I believe it speaks of Rev. 13 or his 42 months of ordained time. 3 horns will be uprooted and I believe Egypt of Dan 11 is one of them. The first half he is there but does not have absolute power. Many leave this out and make him absolutely powerful for the whole 7 years which is against Scripture.
The remaining Islamic hordes and all spiritual ideologies will either be destroyed by the A.C. or will join him as they seek the global purge of Israel, the 144,000 and gentile and Jewish believers in the Messiah of Israel (Matt. 24:15-19, Rev. 13, Rev. 17:12-18).
Awesome things will all have to wait and see on our return with the Savior and King of kings!!!

I think they will be, but an Islamic empire, an amalgamation, one where their plan to unite the world under islam will be fruitful, so to speak, more than any other national effort
It is neat to try to put the pieces together with the truths we have but in all honesty a lot we have to try to preceive what will be... but as we are getting ever closer we can see what will be some much closer. No doubt Islam has a huge part. I try believe that millions of Muslims will turn to the Messiah of Israel during this time by the preaching and witnessing of the 2 Witnesses and the 144,000 (Paul like Jews) (Rev. 7)
