Christie Agrees to In-State Tuition for Undocumented Immigrants
NY Times ^ | Dec 19, 2013 | Kirk Semple

The New Jersey Legislature approved legislation on Thursday that would allow students without legal immigration status to pay in-state college tuition. Gov. Chris Christie planned to sign it on Friday, a spokesman said.

During Mr. Christie’s re-election campaign this year, he spoke favorably of tuition equality.

The compromise bill will allow access to in-state tuition for immigrants without legal status who have graduated from a New Jersey high school after at least three years of attendance.

Mr. Christie said the legislation would become effective immediately, allowing students to take advantage of it in time for the spring semester.

They have no right to be here, let alone to draw off the dwindling trough of public funds! They must be encouraged to self-deport by being denied the ability to work, go to school or get any kind of welfare or health care benefits. And we don’t need any more magnets encouraging more of these lawbreakers to come!

Borders either matter or they don’t. Only if you believe in eliminating the concept of citizenship entirely can you support Christie’s lawless action. If anyone can waltz into America of their own free will from anywhere in the world and do anything a normal citizen can, then citizenship DOES NOT EXIST.

So you support foreigners’ theft of social services?

It is not theft when it is granted by the states. No one is forced to live in Texas. If you do not like it, you do not have to be here. Education is the only key out of poverty. Barbara Bush said it often, as did Laura.

American citizens should not be the slaves of illegals.

Foreigners are committing theft, whether a state facilitates it or not. Which is entirely the point. States provide public education for their citizens, and under federal edict must also provide public education to illegal aliens.

Illegal aliens should not be in Texas or any other state. By the way, the thread is about New Jersey, not Texas.

I understand the thread is about New Jersey. My point was...Texas does the same..as do many other states. Not just New Jersey.

There’s a story behind this that doesn’t get much attention at all:

“If it weren’t for immigration (legal and illegal), New Jersey would be facing a long-term population decline driven by an ongoing out-migration of its professional class!”

We lived in NJ for less than a year in the early 70’s, and we jumped at the chance to get out and leave.

New Jersey was not doing it until now, Christie Agrees to In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens.

Why does Christie (and others) favor illegal aliens over US citizens?

Oh?

Please explain how an illegal alien in New Jersey who pays a reduced tuition rate while a US citizen from one of the other 49 states pays a higher tuition rate is not favoring illegal aliens over US citizens.

Ray, did he explain why he was doing this at the signing? I admit I did not read the article about it. And I avoid reading anything Rick Perry says. I am so burned out on politics, I would rather dig my eyeball out with a spork than watch a political show these days. I have never seen politics this dirty nor do I ever want to again. I have worked with and around politicians for years. I am done. I should have done some research before my comments..I have no idea what Chrisite’s reasoning was..nor Perry’s. And I apologize.

No...They are doing it for a reason. And I guarantee you it is a political reason. They have something to gain or they would not be doing it. It is not done out of the goodness of their hearts.

He capitulated to the subversive Democrats, further strengthening them. I have no use for Vichy RINO weaklings and pray for their defeat.

Glad we remain FRiends (I was becoming a little worried!)
