Chalk this one up in the “Inevitable GOP Cave” column.
It just polls to damned well with low-infos.

There is nothing to stop Vermont from raising the state minimum wage to $20 per hour. Why doesn’t Sanders STFU and push his state to raise the minimum.

What? You mean that raising the state minimum wage won’t trigger a raise in union wages... Only federal minimum wage laws do that? Now I understand...

They should filibuster this as with the food stamps bill, if for nothing else, for Dems changing the Senate rules on a simple majority vote.

If $10/hour minimum wage is good - why not just make it $50/hour? That would be even better!

then we could all have above average wages......

He’s right... it is a starvation wage, especially when balanced against welfare and the incredible marginal tax rate a worker pays when/if he tries to leave welfare.

I got a 1% raise in Social Security this year, why not raise the minimum raise 1%? That seems fair. If the Government has established that Social security recipients are due 1%, then that is fair for everybody.

The woman says if they raise the minimum wage they get better quality employees. So, all you people who are now working for the current minimum wage, be prepared to be replaced.

And to all the Mexicans out there! Head to Vermont!

Every single raise in the Federal minimum wage causes an increase in every single union contract in the USA.

This is a sop to unions so they will continue to support the Democrats.

IF I owned a business where & was working hard just to pay the minimum wage in a restaurant, etc, I would be looking to close down. I would suddenly have ‘health problems’ which would mean that I could not continue my business.

Aw, heck, let’s just cut to the chase and have the federal government issue a check for ONE MILLION DOLLARS to every single person living in this country.

That way, everyone will be a millionaire and poverty will finally be eradicated! Not only that, but the “income inequality” problem will also be solved.

I don’t know why they don’t just attach it to the Military, Social Security raise every year. Why not give them 1.5 percent in January and just give the raise every year that everyone else gets. I think that is much better than the way they do it now. Perhaps everyone would get a bigger raise when they realize that things go up more than 1.5 percent a year once they add to the pool of people receiving the raise. I mean it would make sense. Plus minimum wage would NEVER be 7.50 like today if they did that.

The GOP should call their bluff and unanimously come to the next session pushing a $15 minimum wage by 2015!

Force the left to accept it or kill it.
