So rednecks need to be politically correct now?
Wait, before the National Association of Rednecked Persons attacks me, let me be clear that I don’t mean “redneck” as an insult. Indeed, Redneck Pride has been on the rise ever since Jeff Foxworthy got rich informing people they “might be a redneck.”
Redneck reality shows have been all the rage: “Rocket City Rednecks,” ‘‘Hillbilly Handfishin’ ” and, of course, “Swamp People.” But the gold standard is “Duck Dynasty,” which follows the Robertsons, a family that struck it rich selling duck calls. It’s like a real-life version of “The Beverly Hillbillies.” All of the men look like they stepped out of the Hatfield-McCoy conflict to smoke a corncob pipe.
What all of these reality shows have in common is their shock value. And guess what? Sometimes the shock is manufactured. If the cameras weren’t on, the silicone life forms on the various “Real Housewives” shows probably wouldn’t be throwing wine in each other’s faces as much as they do.
But here’s a twist. Phil Robertson (who — shhh! — has a master’s degree from Louisiana Tech) gave an interview to GQ in which he said that, as a Christian, he has problems with homosexuality. He got a bit too detailed with his anatomical analysis. But his real sin was calling homosexuality a sin comparable with bestiality.
In response, A&E suspended him from the reality show about his own family. Which should give you a sense of how real this reality show is. If it’s about the family, some producer in New York can’t decide who’s in or out of the family. If NBC News decided it simply didn’t like the Republican Party anymore...

LOL! You know, I’ve never been particularly attracted to big merchandising campaigns, but I’m mightily happy to see these strong-minded, fearless believers influencing people. Whenever I say, “Merry Christmas,” I receive a big, almost conspiratorial grin and “Merry CHRISTmas!” right back at me... from store clerks, too!
Jesus is getting around, SevenofNine... He never left us, but now, many young people are running to Him and clearly are joyful when they smile and say, “Merry CHRISTmas!”
I think the Congress and Senate already left for Christmas vacation.
Not saying you should be terrified, but you sure ought to be apprehensive. It's not just characters on reality TV who face loss of incomes if these folks get their way; it's everybody who told anybody else something that these people do not want anybody thinking. Just yesterday, the bigwigs at Lockheed declared the Boy Scouts a hate group. If you were an employee with a kid in Scouts, I expect you'd be sending out resumes.
What's a shame is how much he got paid to ensure he snuck that in to an article that moral conservative Americans would read.

Yes but he listed bestiality right after homosexuality. And I am glad he did it.
They’ve not won demographically, but they have sold the influential set that loves to believe lies. The devil makes like he is much bigger than he really is.

So, LET US NOT BE DECEIVED! It is what it is. So....Love One Another, while there is time. Believe, and Trust in God, as He IS in Control of EVERYTHING.
Which would make sleeping around with women and men worse than bestiality by your logic, since he listed that next after bestiality.

I saw at local Walmart WHOLE Store display of DD stuff wall to wall it was OUT there
Now people are waking up realize hey this family is cool
So I agree he associated these two sins and I welcome it. He also listed adultery next as yet another example of sin and thus associated all three sexual sins.
What I find interesting is the press is not picking up the 3rd sexual sin he listed (man/woman outside marriage) which would offend even a larger segment of the population since there are more participants in that sin than the others.

It also sounds remarkably like the GOPe with conservatives.
Great observation. The GOP-e is making exactly the same mistake with their base. Isn't it interesting that we conservatives happen to be the same folks A&E made their colossal blunder with?
Wrong. His description of the gay sex act of males is what forced GLAAD to push the issue. They rely on the "We're just like you" argument to further their agenda. Anything that vividly demonstrates that their behavior is not nearly as mainstream as they have maintained, must be silenced. Phil Robertson shined a light on the black hole (yes, I said it) They wish to keep from people's minds. If a person is forced to consider the homosexual act, they will inevitably withdraw what little support there is.
