GLAAD says they have never gotten more angry phone calls and emails than they have since they decided to launch their attack on Phil Robertson, and escalated their speech and thought war against Christians at the same time.
But Yahoo reports that they’re not apt to learn anything. The group still wants to re-educate Phil Robertson.
After the meeting (between A&E executives and GLAAD), GLAAD issued its statement on Robertson’s comments. A&E initially released a statement from Robertson in which he said he would “never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.” But the network declined to comment itself until Wednesday night, when it announced the suspension, which GLAAD applauded.
“We believe the next step is to use this as an opportunity for Phil to sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share,” the spokesman said.
The organization is also currently researching companies who use Robertson as a spokesperson.
There is no veil over that threat: GLAAD still wants Robertson to do exactly what they say, or they will try to deprive Robertson and his family of their livelihood. GLAAD would be called a McCarthyist group if they weren’t among the media’s favorite go-to activist cells. GLAAD has no intention of meeting with the Christians it wants to persecute.
GLAAD’s a strategy that is bound to fail. They made the classic mistake of overreaching (cf. Napoleon’s invasion of Russia).
Two of Duck Dynasty’s sponsors, Under Armor and Skyjacker, have already said they’re sticking with the show. Cracker Barrel, on the other hand, may have forgotten who its customers are. The Robertsons’ home town is solidly behind the family. Walmart and Academy, two of the Duck Commander/DD brands’ largest outlets, show no sign of dropping either. The merch is flying off the shelves. GLAAD’s overreach has made them subjects of mockery and derision, not fear. A&E now looks duplicitous and cowardly, because they are, and the channel is likely to lose its most profitable show. Duck Dynasty could thrive on literally any broadcast outlet. The Robertsons, those rednecks that A&E’s suits expected to mock, don’t even need the show to remain rich. The swamp folks hold all the cards.
It is a trap! GA & E have set up the next season to have a Robertson come out of the closet and the family will accept it!
Scripted? These are clever people who are manipulating us.

A group of underwear clad men looking quite metrosexual and playing Jingle Bells by clanging their balls from side to side seemed in your face and repulsive to me... and the finally was the real kicker. I found it offensive as did my wife and two neighbors that were watching a Christmas movie with us at the time. I respect your opinion but I personally will never again do business with k-mart.

Well, I am a conscientious objector to homosexuality. How ‘bout them apples, GLAAD people?
In my old neighborhood in NC, I was walking my dog shortly after we moved in and met a wonderful man. He was Conservative and we spent much time discussing what was going on in the world. I had actually wanted to fix him up with a friend of mine and didn’t know how to approach this. During one conversation, he mentioned he was going on vacation with his parents and ... his partner. This was after over two years of conversations.
Such a refreshing difference from the ‘I’m queer and I’m here’ crowd - who have no concept of respect for others and their wants and needs override everyone else’s.
And, it is strange that one man I know who ‘came out’ about twenty years ago changed immediately from a confident man to a girly, swishy, flamboyant sissy. It is an insult as that is what they think women are and think they can take our place.
And very quickly, with a sincere apology, I might add. There's is a rare example of an honest mistake, not pervasive culture of political correctness. Thank God, because I love to eat there!
