Absolutely agree 100%. Wouldn't it be great to drive to Alaska without having to go through customs?

Did you know if you have a DUI conviction in the US you are not allowed into Canada? Just wondered.

Caanadians would not like this suggestion, and I suspect that there are aspects of Canadian life that we would not like.

They have the queen of England on their currency. They would have to get over this first.

Not a bit of it. Both countries are having enough trouble with bilingualism. We don’t need to addd tri-lingualism to the mix.
If something has to give, let it be NAFTA.

There is no freedom of speech right in Canada, nor is there anything like our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.
Canada and the U.S.A., together at last? I hope not.
The hurdles to incorporating with a former part of the British Empire are higher than most folks would expect.

I’d say Texas and Alberta could merge and become their own country.

Ha! My friend was dating a Canuck. One day over dinner, I said, "why don't they just take down the border fences and make Canada part of the US?"
She reached across the table and planted a knife in the wood table top near me.
Fortunately, they broke up a few months later.

If, forced to adopt US laws, there aren’t many Canadians that would take the offer. They actually like their way of life. As a dual US/Canadian citizen it would be sad to see either country assimilated into the other and lose their identity

I doubt Canadians would like to take on a deadbeat US with over $17 trillion in debt and another $90 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Bad deal for Canada.

I think it would be a good idea if Alberta, Alaska and the Midwest states formed a separate union.

Canada, as it currently exists, serves a very important function for the US military.
Without Canada, we have no easy option for those who’ve voluntarily signed a military contract, but don’t have the honor, nor integrity, to actually see it through if the situation goes all shooty and stuff.
Without Canada, we’d have to take those sad sacks, malingerers and otherwise degenerates with us when we went to fight.
