Having to give up a down and adding 10 yards to the football field, I don't think would sit well with Americans.

I don't think they want to be swamped by Americans who would instantly outvote and outnumber them 10 to 1. And I don't want anything to do with their "human rights courts". We're friends, family even; that should be enough. We don't need to rule one another.

Maybe if our 10th amendment was still in force and the various states (and provinces) retained some autonomy.
