Fearless NBC News boss Deborah Turness is turning her attention to her troubled Sunday talk show, Meet the Press asking staff to write a mission statement and explain what works and what doesnt, The Post has learned.
Turness has been reviewing individual shows one by one with the aim of having staff focus more clearly on winning the ratings wars, sources said.
The review has sparked talk of what the future holds for the 66-year-old show and its host, David Gregory.

We did and they are scum!
The problem is Tim Russert hasn’t been coming down for breakfast for quite a while.
the only trial balloon I saw of a replacement are the team from Morning Joe.... whatever that is
Deborah Mary Turness (born 1967) is a British journalist who has been President of NBC News since August, 2013, and a former Editor of ITV News from 2004-2013, making her the UK’s first female editor of network news.
The only journalist invited to the Buckingham Palace state banquet for President Barack Obama, Turness earned the nickname “Mad Dog”, a reflection of her capacity for ideas (”Out of every 10, nine will be crazy and one will be genius,” says a colleague) and prodigious work rate she only sleeps five hours a night. It is a maverick streak that can perhaps be traced back to her convent school days where, legend has it, she was expelled aged 13 after nuns caught her kissing boys in the grounds.
“She doesn’t give up until she gets what she wants,” says Mannion. “If someone made 99 phone calls to get something, she would make 100. That’s how she works.”
The mother of two young children she is married to John Toker, the former ITN producer and government communications directorwho handled the PR for last year’s Leveson inquiry the family will relocate to New York in the summer.
It hasn't been tried in 20+ years -- if not longer -- so it's worth a go.
There’s an idea.
First, start with the Press in Meet the Press. No more cheer leading squads for the liberal agenda.
Next, start with the guests. No more RINOS to offer the so-called opposing view
Or just can the show put in an infomercial. Probably will create more revenue for the network anyway.
start by firing David Gregory, that Obama knee-pad wearing cock sucker ....
1. 66-year-old show and its host, David Gregory....He is ?
2...asking staff to write a mission statement and explain what works and what doesnt,
Sort of weird the show doesn't have an actual mission statement other than "Kiss Obama Ass"
Isn't that the truth...
Maybe if they would have a non-Marxist hosting the show?
Pray America is Waking
You really want to make the show interesting and get sky high ratings? Easy, hire Mark Levin! Of course ratings are secondary to how can we sell the water we’re carrying for Obama and the DNC so it’ll never happen. But what a show it would be!
I dont understand.
David Gregory inherited the top Sunday morning show and slowly drove it into the ground. Yet only now do they ask what works. Its like watching Detroit self destruct over 50 years and no one asks - Should we try something different.
I dont understand.
My suggestion: Let Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com host the show, and have an end of the show roundtable with Kristinn of FR, Erick Erickson of RedState, Katie Pavlich of Townhall.com, and Byron York of the Free Beacon.
Propaganda pays better.
When the boss demands you write a mission statement, you know you’re toast.
Now that's a cooking show I'd watch. Get the Robertson family to show off slow cooking techniques of various cuts over a nice hot hardwood fire. Although cleaning them has got to be a real chore.
MSNBC and NBC have become a joke. It's perfect for Obama donors and sychophants - everyone else would be better off doing anything except watching the democrat skewed lovefest. Changing channels probably the best idea.
Fearless prediction: To appeal to the vaunted “youth demographic,” Gregory will be replaced with Luke Russert..the poster child for nepotism..
