Update: A BCBS of Alabama customer has submitted a photo of their bill, showing the breakout of Affordable Care Act fees and taxes reported by Kaiser Health News and NPR.
The bill shows ACA taxes and fees of $18.76 on a total bill of $280.04, representing about 7 percent of the total bill.

Question:
Was there a tax before Obamacare? If so, what was the percentage then?
Alabama is a very conservative state, but we still have a few democrats, mostly black, elected in majority black districts that strongly support and voted for Obama. Shadenfreude, but I’m hoping they all get VERY upset about this.
BCBS of Alabama spokesperson Koko Mackin told NPR that the tax breakout accounts for four new charges: a $2 fee for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute; a premium tax of about 2 percent; a user fee of 3.5 percent to help pay for healthcare.gov; and an additional charge to pay for reinsurance.
So there was no tax before, Infinite percent increase:)
I guess $680,000,000 for a website just doesn't cut it any more. Inflation, y'know.
I think the real question is how long before it’s spun back and pinned on Republicans.
All these statements should be watermarked with the DNC logo and Obama’s likeness.
“...a law professor at Wake Forest University, told NPR that the tax should be thought of as a pass-through, rather than extra money in the federal government’s coffers.”
Alrighty then! THAT makes it OK!
Nevermind that it raises premiums and costs Americans money they can ill afford to pay.
(Typical, libtard school explaining
away Obama’s rape of America.)
At least Alabama is honest. I think that all states should follow suit, and let their people know exactly how much they are paying for these hidden Obamacare taxes.
The government has taken an additional 7% of 20% of the entire economy. Just. Like. That.

I’ve always thought employers should provide the same type of data on paychecks. Show gross compensation, then subtract out the employer paid portion of FICA, employer payments for workman’s comp insurance and unemployment insurance, employer payment toward healthcare cost, employer paid vacation and sick days off. Then all of the other deductions - employee portion of FICA, employee federal and state taxes, employee portion of healthcare. Let the $40,000 employee see he really costs his employer $60,000 per year and taxes are easily consuming more than 50% of that cost. Until people begin to understand what government is really taking from them they won’t start opposing the take.
good thing they whited out the name or it would have been IRS audit, here we come.

His Majesty promised unless you were a millionaire or billionaire you wouldn't see any new taxes!
