The 1993 Houston Oilers had at least two gay players, former teammates say

The topic of whether a gay player would be accepted in a NFL locker room is probably overblown. Players like teammates who can help them win. The rest is trivial.

This is shown by the 1993 Houston Oilers. The Houston Chronicle ran a tremendous oral history on that wild season and team (it's excellent, check it out, as was the NFL Network's "A Football Life" episode on the '93 Oilers), and in it there's a revelation that the Oilers had at least two gay players.

If true, this may begin to explain the disaster the Oilers became in 1993 and the few years that followed until Bud Adams and the Oilers left Houston.

Lemme guess ... One of them was a tight end and the other was a wide receiver. :-P

He was retired by then. I think he retired in the late 1980s.

Who cares about the 1993 Oilers. What I want to know is the 1946 Red Sox. They totally folded that year in the World Series against the Cardinals. Can somebody comb through that lineup, identify the responsible homosexuals involved in blowing that series, and get back to us?

Thank you and have a nice day.

“Yet no one felt a need to tell us then. Why do we need to know now?”

Good question. I think the answer is to begin to prepare the fans for the inevitable homosexualizing of professional football.

Amazingly, they already got grown men and their fans to wear pink and embrace the ‘womans touch’ in general on football, such as going way overboard on ‘safety’ on the field for example and other things meant to chip away at the manliness of the players and the game in general.

There is actually a connection here as ESPN recently ran a program about the 1993 Houston Oilers and labeled that team “the most dysfunctional team in NFL history.”
