FAIRFIELD, Ohio - A southwest Ohio teacher who allegedly responded after a black high school freshman said he wanted to become president that the nation doesn't need another black president has been disciplined.
The Fairfield board of education this week suspended teacher Gil Voigt without pay. The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reported that board president Dan Murray said that the suspension is the first step in the termination process.
When a black student in the northern Cincinnati suburb earlier this month said he wanted to be president, the white teacher made an apparent reference to President Barack Obama, according to school officials, and allegedly said: "We don't need another black president."
Voigt, who has taught at Fairfield since 2000, reportedly told school officials he was misquoted. A telephone message left for him Friday wasn't immediately returned. He has 10 days after he is formally notified to appeal before the school board.

“We don’t need another black president” is a racist statement.
Note: I don’t know whether he said it or not. Nor would I (personally) call him a racist. But the statement certainly is.
I really do not understand what the teacher thinks he has to gain by making such comments. Just think, he could have said “That’s nice, D’Shawn, very nice” and be up for teacher of the year.
People should think more before opening their mouths.

Looks like he was misquoted or taken out of context.
Maybe this student was trying to get back at the teacher and set him up by making the statement about wanting to be president.
In any case, this student has ruined this teacher’s reputation and he will never work in the teaching field again.

What is the reason you believe that? I am not suggesting you’re incorrect in thinking this; just that my impression was always that he wants to knock down America soely becuase we are (or were) a powerful force in the world. Not because our gains were ill-gotten.

What he should’ve said is we don’t need THIS black president.
Black or white, he should in all fairness be able to run again on another social security number.

Nope ... they did it to themselves. When 98% of blacks voted for Zero simply because of his skin pigmentation, they showed their true colors ... no pun intended. When most again voted for Obamao for the second term they showed who the true racists really are. Now most STILL support Obummer. To me that is the great political "knockout game" So consequently I have seen the light (as has a great many other Americans) I have NO respect for that demographic what so ever. I used to ... but no more.

In a nutshell this comment is EXACTLY why the Congress and the Supreme Court are giving Barry leeway even though pretty much every American with common sense knows he's a COMPLETE failure whose policies invite disaster every single day. There is this feeling amongst the Washington elite that, "We can't let people know he's a failure! How would that LOOK for the first black president???" They don't treat him as they would any other president. They treat him as a symbol.
The hour grows late, though. They better at least symbolically impeach him. And soon.
He should know how OH people feel about Obama.
