Country star, actor and restaurateur Toby Keith sparked a controversy after banning guns from his newly opened eatery in Virginia.
The 52-year-old Oklahoma native held a grand opening last week for his newest venture, Toby Keiths I Love This Bar & Grill in the DC suburb of Woodbridge.
But many of the singers fans who turned up for the event were shocked to discover a sign in the window that announced: NO GUNS PERMITTED.

I know a bunch of people who went to OSU. They weren’t so happy about Bedlam this year. Lots of talk before the game though... :)
“If that’s a gun in your pocket, we’re not glad to see you!”
The Marcy Brothers recorded it before that.
As the article states, in VA, must be open carry.
If it’s obvious to you that it wasn’t Toby Keith, but shouldn’t it be obvious to the rest of us? Because you’re so much smarter and better informed?
There’s no crime in not knowing who recorded achey breaky heart. You can own up to it... its okay.
It wasn’t necessarily obvious to everyone, so why allow disinformation to abound spread across the planet unabated? ;)
Why not assume that the other guy knows as much as you do and is perhaps making a joke, instead of assuming that everybody is stupider than you?
And I never said he can do what he wants; that was “Lurkina.n.Learnin” who said that.
I think Mr. Keith should do what he doesn’t want to do . . . he seems to not want to do a lot of the right things, and he needs to start doing them.
I think Gundy is an excellent coach overall. He runs a clean program, recruits well and seems to have everything humming at OSU.
His one weakness is he has been out coached in individual games.
Oh that was a joke? Damn... I’m just not good with funny....
Yeah... he was tight. They had everything to lose. OU had nothing to lose so they came in really loose and shooting from the hip.
that’s right, he just sold some hoosier the right to use his name
The article is wrong. You CAN conceal carry in a bar or restaurant. You CANNOT drink AT ALL while carrying.
You used to have to do "the Virginia tuck," and tuck your shirt behind your pistol so it was now revealed before entering a bar. You no longer have to do this and can continue to keep your weapon concealed if you wish. Or, you can open carry - VA is gun friendly.
NC recently changed their laws regarding carry in a bar/restaurant that serve alcohol to resemble Virginia. during the debate, Virginia (and her lack of problems with it) was used as an example.
I remember when he lost at Troy while OSU was ranked. Troy came out really hitting hard, broke one of his star’s legs and just plain beat them. When the camera was on Gundy’s face he had that deer in the headlight look. He clearly got out coached in that game.
It happens to all of them now and then. But you’re right... he runs a good program.
As a cat returneth to his vomit?? (with apologies to Proverbs 26:11)
Im OK with no-guns where there will be lots of alcohol consumed so long as the ban is uniformly administered by mgmt.

VA law says concealed ok as long as not consuming ANY alcohol - I think they ‘specify’ restaurant BUT an establishment that serves liquor must serve food.
. But, like the man says, the purpose of concealed carry is it is concealed.
Would imagine the ‘sign’ is just a catch all so that if something ‘happens’ They can say the ‘law’ was broken. (I think the charge for carrying in an establishment with a sign is trespassing and you don’t lose your permit).
May as well have a sign saying “NO DRINKING IF YOU ARE DRIVING” as far as I am concerned.
