House Intelligence chair: Benghazi attack 'Al Qaeda-led event'
Fox News ^ | December 29, 2013 | Catherine Herridge

The 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya was an "Al Qaeda-led event" according to multiple on-the-record interviews with the head of the House Intelligence Committee who receives regular classified briefings and has access to the raw intelligence to make independent assessments.

"I will tell you this, by witness testimony and a year and a half of interviewing everyone that was in the ground by the way, either by an FBI investigator or the committee: It was very clear to the individuals on the ground that this was an Al Qaeda-led event. And they had pretty fairly descriptive events early on that lead those folks on the ground, doing the fighting, to the conclusion that this was a pre-planned, organized terrorist event," Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., told Fox News in a November interview.

"Not a video, that whole part was debunked time and time again," Rogers added of the attack which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, "which just leads to questions of why the administration hung with that narrative for so long when all the folks who participated on the ground saw something different."

The point is not who...but that Obama said "Stand Down". That's his legacy.

Boston...Russia told us more than once to look at the bombers. Obama told Putin to MYOB. That's his legacy.

Hasan....We were warned that this guy was nutso. Obama policy said..."Give him a promotion". That's his legacy.

"I will side with......."

The NYT, aka Pravda, is busy revising history to get the Worst State Dept. Ever off the hook for the murder of our ambassador and three other brave Americans who saved many at the embassy in spite of Obama and Hillary. They are guilty of lying while standing next to the caskets of those they abandoned on 9/11/’12.

The MSM has been interviewing its own local Muslim ‘reporters’ and their photographers and Al Jazeera affiliates. Do they provide videotaped interviews? Do they even identify these ‘sources’?

“The MSM has been interviewing its own local Muslim ‘reporters’ and their photographers and Al Jazeera affiliates. Do they provide videotaped interviews? Do they even identify these ‘sources’?”

Perhaps a look behind the reporting is in order...

NYT: “Suliman Ali Zway and Osama Alfitori contributed reporting from Benghazi”

http://www.journalism.co.uk/news-features/-wherever-there-was-news-we-went—libya-s-a-team-fixers-on-getting-the-story-out/s5/a546770/

17 November, 2011

Zway and Alfitory were construction workers who quit comfortable jobs to volunteer for the Western journalists that flooded into Benghazi when the February protests turned to armed rebellion.

How it began

“It all came by chance at the beginning,” Zway tells me during a trip to London to collect his award.

“The protests were over and the fighting was just beginning. Only a few were fighting and had gone to the frontline. A lot of journalists came in and wanted to get an idea of what was happening.”

“No one really knows anything about Libya,” Alfitory says, “but suddenly all these journalists came to Benghazi to find out what was going on”.

“In the beginning I had decided to fight with the rebels, as it was our duty to protect our city. But just for a moment, until in my mind I realised that to help the journalists would be a much better cause. Back in February there were a lot of people starting to fight but not many helping journalists.”

Zway and Alfitory are now in London to attend the Rory Peck Awards ceremony, and will stay for two weeks to “unwind after eight months of conflict”.

Their trip was part-funded by Jon Lee Anderson and organised by a group of journalists who worked with them, including Fadel.

“quit comfortable construction jobs” yet miraculously threw all that away to ‘volunteer’ for the MSM who was intent on creating their own story.

Interesting information. The Times, of course, liked these guys because they told the NYT exactly what it wanted to hear.

That said, why is a “report” by a newspaper - and a historically very partisan and politicized newspaper at that - getting more credence than the investigations of our own people whose responsibility it is to investigate such matters?

Obama, a stand up comedian, a stand down president.
That indeed is his coercive utopian legacy, may it be relegated to the dust bin of history.

A treasonous POS if there ever was one.

Well, somebody did send out an invitation on you-tube. So it sure is not out of the realm of possibilities that AQ was on the invitation list and crashed the planned party.

Of course the majority of Americans have no clue where Benghazi is and what happened there. The left are such hypocrites, I am reminded of the A.N.S.W.E.R. crowd screeching ‘NO blood for oil’, and not a peep out of them over ‘blood for wmds’.

How can anyone believe this NYT tripe?

A couple of construction workers who wanted to rebels, yet felt the calling to ‘help’ the MSM? They then went to London and collect some MSM awards for collusion? They stayed a couple of extra weeks to ‘unwind?’

The MSM can create anything it wants when it goes unchallenged and happens to be at an opportune time (like Hillary’s runup for 2016. The fact is they create this shit all the time. Just like Dan Rather’s damning 1970s memos that were fabricated on 1990s word processors.

The moment I heard about the NYT's article, I knew in my bones that this is all about covering for Hillary.

They are mudding the water.

Note the reporters.

DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK

CAIRO — After a month of conflicting statements and partisan criticism, the circumstances surrounding the attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 have become clouded in ambiguities and questions: Did the attack grow out of anger against an American-made video mocking the Prophet Muhammad, or was it waged by an affiliate of Al Qaeda out to mark the 11th anniversary of its attack on United States soil?

To Libyans who witnessed the assault and know the attackers, there is little doubt what occurred: a well-known group of local Islamist militants struck the United States Mission without any warning or protest, and they did it in retaliation for the video. That is what the fighters said at the time, speaking emotionally of their anger at the video without mentioning Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden or the terrorist strikes of 11 years earlier. And it is an explanation that tracks with their history as members of a local militant group determined to protect Libya from Western influence.
(Snip)

United States intelligence officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have said they intercepted boastful phone calls after the fact from attackers at the mission to individuals affiliated with Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. But they have also said that so far they had found no evidence of planning or instigation by the group. James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, described the participation of individuals “linked to groups affiliated with or sympathetic with Al Qaeda” — acknowledging, at best, a tenuous or indirect link.

“It is a promiscuous use of ‘Al Qaeda,’ ” Michael Hanna, a researcher at the Century Foundation, said of those charging that Al Qaeda was behind this attack. “It can mean anything or nothing at all.”

Suliman Ali Zway contributed reporting from Benghazi, Libya.

Of course the NY Times is covering for Hillary. Obama too, after all, he’s their candidate, must protect his pitiful legacy with lies.

The NY Times is a journalistic disgrace.

Good grief. I’m not suggesting it was the video. I am suggesting the NYT’s is circling the wagons, covering for HRC and their own asses. Their original reporting and reporters seem agenda-driven. IMHO.

Yeah, there is. The new report is nothing but a retread of their earlier reports by the same reporters. My post connects the dots.

Dig deeper. Who is behind the reports? What is their agenda?

Just a little red meat for the base from a Boehner stooge. Do Nothing Rodgers won’t be engaging the Obama Admin over Benghazi.
