Increasingly vocal in its frustration over U.S. policies in the Mideast, Saudi Arabia is strengthening ties elsewhere, seeking out an alignment that will bolster its position after it was pushed to the sidelines this year.

For years, people on this site have sneered at the Saudis because of their implicit support of terrorism, so this should be good news to everybody, shouldn’t it?

It’s probably really about being pissed off that we’re producing a lot of our own oil now. Instead of $1B a month they’re down to $100M.../s

The Saudi’s would have never emerged from the sidelines if not for our dependence on their oil.

Hopefully fraking will keep them on the sidelines for years to come. Their friendship in the region comes at far to high of a cost...

This Obama administration, including Clinton and Kerry at State, has totally destroyed the US regarding foreign relations. No former allied country trusts the US now.
