The Obama Administration announced today that 1.1 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare so far.

That number includes the number who have signed up for the taxpayer-funded Medicaid part of the plan.

As of December 11, 2013–

Over 800,000 Americans signed up for the taxpayer-funded Medicaid program.

Over five million Americans have lost their health care plans so far.

The Hill reported:

More than 1.1 million people enrolled in ObamaCare before a December 24 deadline for consumers seeking healthcare plans that begin Jan. 1, the Obama administration said early Sunday.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said in a blog post that more than 975,000 people enrolled in a qualified health plan through the federal marketplace in December, following a rocky rollout in October.

Detailed demographics were not released.

Approximately 365,000 signed up for Obamacare.

Wasn’t 7 million the magic number to make this whole thing viable?

This is what’s known as “lean forward.”

The number of sign-ups sounds unbelievably high. How many actual paying people, not including the moochers on subsidies? I’m guessing it’s less than 25,000.

"The Obama Administration announced today that 1.1 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare so far."

And remember "signed up for Obamacare" doesn't mean they bought a policy, only that they created an account on a webstie.

What does viability have to do with anything that the Obama administration has done? The only thing they seem to care about is creating more government-dependent voters.

I wish those new Medicaid enrollees luck with actually getting any health care services.

That magic 7 million always amused me. They sold Obamacare based on 40 million uninsured. If that was true how could signing up 7 million be a success if it left 33 million uninsured?

Only 336.9 million left to go. That’s 381.9 million if you count the illegals.

They don’t care if it is viable or not, as long as it leads to socialized medicine.

The vast majority of them (800,000) were signups to Medicaid.

"And how many have actually paid their premium?"

The business channel reported that only 126,000 have actually paid deposits and the rest are either subsidized or putting off payments already. The White House is in a bind because people that haven't paid because they think it's all free may not really have insurance. So, they have asked insurance companies that receive these applications to treat the people making claims as if they do have insurance and trust the government to get them paid.

This catastrophe has only just begun.
