Ah the ego of those who have ‘power’…. they will sink the ship just to say they were the captain

Exactly as I thought - Democrats will need a strong independent or libertarian to win an election for the next decade.

The RINOs would rather have radical Democrats elected, than support the winner and take control. Let’s face it, the Whigs have no desire to govern and if it is forced on them, will do everything they can to run away from it.

The elephant is dead, long live the tea blossom.

The GOP media delights in highlighting GOP failures.

The GOP did not go on the attack until the end of the election. That was the mistake.

Don’t get too upset about this, folks. The chances of conservatives picking up this seat were pretty slim to start with: it’s a solid ‘rat district.

The real contest is in tidewater in the 6th district that used to be ralph northam’s seat. It’s a more or less purple district. No spoiler in the race.

I assume that Joe T. May, the “independent” candidate, is a center-left RINO.

Is that correct?

According to links, John May was Chairman of the Transportation Committee and was seeking to increase tax revenue.

In fact, another link condemns Virginia Republican legislators in general for their tax and spend policies.

I assume the Republican nominee John Whitbeck is more Conservative.

Is that correct?

The links on Whitbeck weren't very helpful.
