Poll: Americans rank Obama, Hillary Clinton most admired

Reuters 8:41 a.m. CST, December 30, 2013

(Reuters) - Americans named President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the world's most admired living man and woman in 2013, according to a Gallup poll released on Monday.

Obama topped the annual list for the sixth consecutive year, a typical ranking for a sitting U.S. president, the polling organization said.

But the percentage of those surveyed who choose him as the most admired man fell to 16 percent this year, down from 30 percent in 2012.

The president's job approval rating has dropped during a year marked by a botched healthcare rollout and stalled legislative initiatives at the start of his second term.

Yet only 16% chose him as the ‘most admired man”. I am certain that 95% of blacks IDed him as the most admired. Which means he did not need many more votes to win the poll.

What sort of poll hypes a winner who gets 16% anyway? It is obvious that this is more of a poll of which man/woman is most well known to the public - not a case of admiration.

Americans named President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the world’s most admired living man and woman in 2013

HUH?
So people admire a President that has an approval rating on his job performance in the 40 percentile range?

Sad day for humanity when people accept the fact they are lied to for their own good.

If it was sooooo good, people would not need to be lied to.

I don’t Polls (all polls) any more than I trust the voting booths..
Amazing how republicans turn their heads from massive voter fraud in 2012...

Voting in the U.S. will be FOREVER SUSPECT...
Democrats made a huge mistakes with 150% voting in some precincts..

Must have been going on for decades... (they messed UP)...
I’m sure that has been FIXED though.. 2014 and 2016 will be corrupt but not as obvious..

Agreed. 16%? Doesn’t sound all that good to me. This is simply hyping numbers as best of the bad.

Which cess pool city was that poll taken in? Had to be a demodummie strong hold.

I live in a very small town and you couldn’t find 5 people here that would admit to voting for odumbo or that would vote for Clinton either. (We have lots of smart people here, all 888 of them.)

The President is always the "most admired person" for Americans.

That's because it's hard to for a large sample to spontaneously come up with the same name of an admired person. We don't have that kind of monolithic culture, so people just name the current president.

The only exception is when a second term president becomes extremely unpopular. So Kissinger was "most admired" for the last years of Nixon's presidency, and outgoing President Clinton had to settle for a tie with Pope John Paul.

The real news here is that Obama's support here was almost cut in half. It went from 30% to 16% in twelve months.

Most admired by only 16%, probably his sons and daughters. Might be a whole bunch of others at 15% or so.
