Obamacare Ignites Revolution Inside The Democratic Party
moneymorning.com ^ | 12/31/13 | Money Morning Staff Reports

As 2014 midterms approach, some Democrats are running-not walking-away from Obamacare....coming out of the woodwork to voice opposition.

•39th President Jimmy Carter: "His major accomplishment was Obamacare, and the implementation of it now is questionable at best."

•Barney Frank, former Massachusetts Congressman: "I think we paid a terrible price for health care."

•Former Democratic Presidential candidate, Howard Dean, a doctor: "The Affordable Care Act's Rate-Setting Won't Work."

Obamacare was primarily designed to decrease the number of uninsured Americans and reduce healthcare costs. But experts say it will have the exact opposite effect. What started as a promise to insure 40 million Americans has quickly morphed into another game of Washington politics. And average Americans are getting the short end-again.

.....on top of higher healthcare costs and skyrocketing deductibles, Americans will be hit with $1 trillion new taxes.....taxes that won't just affect those making over $250,000 a year......because while a majority of Obama's "stealth taxes" were designed to tax businesses, they're transferred directly to ordinary citizens.

According to former NY state Lt Governor Betsy McCaughey's extensive research, senior citizens will get hit the hardest. "If you're a senior or a baby boomer, expect less care," she says. "Hip and knee replacements and cataract surgery will be especially hard to get from Medicare." She warns seniors to get procedures done now before Obamacare goes into effect.

.... many will find it difficult to keep medical records private. "The law will compel Americans to share with millions of strangers who are not physicians confidential private and personal medical history." (from Betsy McCaughey's "Beating Obamacare: Your Handbook for Surviving The New Health Care Law.")

AS FREEPER GOPJ INSIGHTFULLY POSTED: "Obamacare was designed to benefit Democrats" (and Democrat voting blocs to fulfill Obama's plans for a permanent Democratic majority):

<><> Blacks, browns, minorities, the melatonin-underclass, benefit because of low, or no, income,

<><> Gays benefit for preexisting conditions, like HIV, and other STD's.

<><>State-dependent women benefit - Dems work hard to undermine marriage, to make them state-dependent, to make them qualify.

<><> Union lefties were given exemptions.

Last but not least....

"Liberal Elites" get the best doctors - their offices cleared of us middle-class riff-raff... elites won't have to wait as long to see a doctor as Republican riff-raff.

SUMMING UP: Liberal elites got the gold. Republicans, conservatives, patriots, tea partiers, job-holders, the middle class, small business owners, etc....we got the shaft.

You say you don't vote Democrat? You get to pay for everything.

Juan Williams, yes, JUAN WILLIAMS, has left the plantation. Apparently, he has just discovered that Obamacare is funded by the middle class. Yes, the middle class! Imagine that.

He said this on Brett Baier's show.

the Obamacare plan was primarily designed to decrease the number of uninsured Americans and reduce healthcare costs.

Not at all. Obamacare was designed to force the middle-class through disguised healthcare insurance provisions to pay for healthcare for the lower middle class. Secondarily, Obamacare was designed not to "reduce healthcare costs" but to increase healthcare costs to the middle-class in order to pay for coverage for the lower middle class. That is why men and postmenopausal women are forced to pay for maternity insurance, for example.

Secondarily, these provisions were designed to deprive the middle-class of its chosen coverage in order to homogenize the system and eventually push these people into a single-payer system.

Because leftists value "equality" over liberty, Obamacare quite deliberately deprives the middle-class of choice in the selection of their insurance plans and quite deliberately imposes unreasonable plans on them. The ultimate goal: equality which is defined by the left to be single-payer or socialized medicine.

In its quest for equality, the left will not only sacrifice liberty but it will sacrifice quality. It is a matter of indifference to the left that the general level of healthcare will deteriorate under Obamacare because they believe it will ultimately standardize healthcare delivery and destroy the allocation of healthcare services according to a free-market. A free-market means capitalism, it means liberty, and these concepts are anathema to the statists. The idea of providing healthcare quality according to the willingness and ability of the recipient to pay are absolutely repugnant to leftists who do not accept a capitalist system. They want to substitute a system of distribution of healthcare services (and virtually every other good and service in every other aspect of life) according to political considerations, usually based on group identity.

Not incidentally, those goods and services will be apportioned to one group which we conservatives described as "elitists" these are the apparatchiks of the state and the policymakers and those who have their ear. These people will always receive an elevated level of healthcare and at a reduced cost. Leftists do not see anything wrong with this because it works according to their system. They are not buying the service and exploiting their "privileged" wealth position, they are accorded the service by virtue of their group identity, witness the favored status of our congressmen.

The uniparty will not repeal Obamacare. Without a single fingerprint on the law or its implementation, and despite it never polling a majority, the GOP will be browbeaten into “making it work.”

The bottom line is that reform will not emerge from Washington DC. We vote less for representatives who make law on our behalf, and more for a president who instructs his untouchable bureaucrats to make the law.

Our Framers gave us the peaceful means to do an end run around our oppressors. We must use Article V before it is too late.

If I am turned down for necessary surgery, me and the idiot who says I won’t be covered are going to have a long talk, which will result in coverage. Not a threat, but a promise.

It’s not over. The same that put the last real president in office, Reagan, will stop the velocity of money.

Ah, but 'Holder's people' will be fully covered - and who cares about the rest? [Holder's people will be well-covered, but not getting good care (where will they find doctors?)].

“Without a single fingerprint on the law or its implementation, and despite it never polling a majority, the GOP will be browbeaten into “making it work.”

I disagree. The GOP showed its true stripes this fall in failing to defund Obamacare. The GOP has controlled the House of Representatives and all federal appropriations since January 2011 yet has been unwilling to defund Obamacare and go to the mat with Obama and the Senate on the issue. Their failure to defund Obamacare, when the majority of the American people oppose Obamacare, demonstrates the GOP is doing the bidding of the corporate interests who fund the party. Those corporate interest want to replace employer paid medical care with single payer government funded healthcare.

The GOP is not being browbeaten to do anything. Our GOP representatives are voluntarily doing the bidding of the big money corporations who benefit from big government. With the exception of the Reagan years, the GOP in modern times has always supported big corporation, and big government, ahead of small business and the average citizen.
