New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio has captured the attention of both constituents and political rivals by campaigning against racial profiling by the police and being a vocal proponent of fiscal egalitarianism in the country's wealthiest city. However, there are several aspects of the City Hall hopefuls personal life that remain unknown to many New Yorkers.
1. He's a Red Sox fan.
The New York Yankees have historically kept a tight grip on City Hall, claiming numerous mayors as tried-and-true pinstripes fans, but the mayoral candidate with strong chances of winning the seat confessed to being a devout Boston Red Sox fan earlier this year. Although de Blasio was born in Manhattan and spent an extensive amount of his academic and professional life in New York City, the son of Italian immigrants was raised in Cambridge, Mass. and continues to support his childhood team.
2. He has three different legal names.
Many politicians with high prospects of running for office take pride in name recognition and brand themselves by repetitively using a particular part of their name for marketing slogan. De Blasio, on the other hand, has changed his name three times, in a way that represents his personal and familial evolution. The mayoral hopeful was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr. in 1961, legally changed his name to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm in 1983, and changed it again in 2002 to Bill de Blasio.
3. He supported democratic socialism as a young activist.
Most candidates who run for political posts in the post-Cold War United States avoid being associated with groups that promote alternative, non-traditional schools of political thought, but de Blasio has distinguished himself for his left-leaning outlook. The Democratic candidate, who distributed food and medical supplies to war victims for 10 days during the Nicaraguan Revolution, ...

They couldn’t care less. He was elected with over 75% of the vote. NY I is doomed.
1 - He's a Commie
2 - He's a Commie
3 - He's a Commie
4 - He's a Commie
5 - He's a Commie
What is the author’s evidence that New Yorkers didn’t know these facts prior to the election? I would assert most New Yorkers knew most if not all of these facts and liked this Marxist more for it.
Regarding #1 to # 5: They knew it and voted for him anyway. They will get what they deserve.
I would opine that they did not care. Even if they knew, they would have still voted for him.
Western New York needs to seperate into its own state
6. He’s afraid of horses.
"What have I done?!"
moment, like "Colonel Nicholson" played by "Alec Guinness" in one of my favorite movies, "The Bridge on the River Kwai".
What next? Philly fans being kind and supportive to Cowboys fans?
Yes, but that won’t stop them from voting for commies over and over and over again.
(You are right he is communist..Read this there are several news articles about him..He is also Obama man..Obama indorsed him..)
Bill de Blasio, the Obama-backed Democrat progressive poised to become New York Citys mayor, is under attack by Rupert Murdochs tabloid empire, his supporters are charging. Its a reference to the New York Post examining the candidates ties to the Nicaraguan Solidarity Network, a Communist-front organization that still supports the Marxist regime in Nicaragua headed by Communist Sandinista Daniel Ortega.
In fact, however, it was The New York Times that originally disclosed de Blasios fondness for the foreign revolution in Nicaragua, in a major piece that shocked even some liberals. The Times article revealed de Blasios pro-communist activities and his prediction back in 1991 that Islam would become a major political force.
Combined with de Blasios anti-police views, including his announced desire to can the tough New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, the revelations are worrying New Yorkers concerned about terrorism coming back to the city in a major way. The September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorist attacks in the city killed nearly 3,000 people. Years before that, the Cuban-backed Puerto Rican terrorist group, the FALN, carried out numerous terrorist bombings in the city, including an attack on Fraunces Tavern in 1975, which killed four people

They don’t know anything about anything.
Who cares about them.
I was getting ready to offer New Yorkers some sympathy. But then I thought, “Why should I do that. They knew very well what they were getting into when they elected this lunatic.”
Best of luck. You’re gonna need it.
A striking resemblence to BHO in so many was:
1) name changes
2) mysterious origins
3) radical past
4) inter racial family
As a NY’er, for the mayor of NY City to public insist he is a Red Sox fan means he is an ASSH*LE. How about just saying nothing?
Everyone knows the Yankees are a huge part of NYC’s history, and this loser is just slapping NY’ers in the face.
# 6...He will help reduce the tourist industry...we were thinking if a visit in near future...will wait until a real American is in charge
Its no longer 1975. When this lunatic bankrupts New York, Congressional Republicans are not going to tax themselves to bail out New York City again.
7. He looks like the demented moyl in that episode of Seinfeld
Wanna bet?
