The much lamented tradition of torching cars to mark the arrival of the new year claimed more than 10 per cent fewer vehicles this year
By French standards, it was a peaceful New Years Eve. Only 1,067 cars and vans were destroyed by arson, a significant reduction of more than 10 per cent compared to the number of vehicles set ablaze last year, according to Manuel Valls, the Interior Minister. All things considered, it was a positive result, Mr Valls told a press conference on Wednesday. He said he regretted the deaths of three people in knife attacks in Paris and in eastern and southern France. Car-torching has been adopted as a modern New Year tradition by some young revellers in France. The practice reportedly began in earnest amongst youths - often in poor neighbourhoods - in the 1990s in the region around Strasbourg in the east of the coutnry.
Last year 1,193 vehicles were burned, according to official figures.

“Youths” = Muslims.
ONLY - sorry
Sounds like the old “Devil’s Night” in Motown except substituting cars for houses.
I wonder if a group of used car salesmen are bankrolling the muzzies to do this....
Having owned a both a Renault and a Peugeot, I can understand the french desired to burn cars...
It’s the French version of “Cash for Clunkers” LOL
The logic of any nation importing this rabble is beyond me. The West is destroying itself.
I one hadn’t read all those stories about car burning in France in earlier years, one would find no indication whatever that these are Muslims celebrating their New Year.
Presumably the knifings, too.
I learned my lesson with just a Renault ‘Fuego’. Never again...
This is a major blow to the auto industry there. I presume they rely on more like tens of thousands of burnt and trashed autos to stimulate their economy. [the BrokenGlassParable on a large scale]
Only 1072? Surprised they didn’t go for 1096.
The cars were murdered because they were infidels.
Youts at it again I see!
If I was French, I’d be advocating for shoot to kill to put an end to this nonsense.
I guess the muzzies can’t aford matches anymore with the French economy tanking even faster than the US economy.
I’d heard you can’t air condition those little foreign jobs.
75 percent income tax, plus a big jump in auto insurance rates, yeah, I want to live there.
Well I'm glad to see they're finally coming to their senses over there.
Hope they were Citroen’s no loss their.
More likely the commie-anarchists.

A common Anarcho-Syndicalist flag.
In the early 20th century, anarcho-syndicalism arose as a distinct school of thought within anarchism. With greater focus on the labour movement than previous forms of anarchism, syndicalism posits radical trade unions as a potential force for revolutionary social change, replacing capitalism and the state with a new society, democratically self-managed by the workers.
Anarcho-syndicalists seek to abolish the wage system and private ownership of the means of production, which they believe lead to class divisions. Important principles include workers' solidarity, direct action (such as general strikes and workplace recuperations), and workers' self-management. This is compatible with other branches of anarchism, and anarcho-syndicalists often subscribe to anarchist communist or collectivist anarchist economic systems. Its advocates propose labour organization as a means to create the foundations of a non-hierarchical anarchist society within the current system and bring about social revolution.
Yes, you have to know the culture of the country. In the US, “youths” means blacks. In Europe it means Muslims.
One of my ancestors was born in Strasbourg in the 1750s. He later came to America and fought against England with a militia company in the Revolutionary War.
Revelers? Seriously? Kids that touch cars are simply reveling?
Are any of these torchings insurance claim arson??
Perhaps there were less cars torched this year - because there were less cars to torch this year.
(kinda like our un-employment numbers...)
I’m sure there a few people who might take advantage of the situation to get an insurance check for their otherwise worthless clunker. Who knows.
No one cooks car-b-que like the French
...of course, that “1,067 cars and vans” was just for that one day: News Years Eve.
I doubt they are torching non-Muslim’s cars. Think of it as a way to ethnically-cleanse the neighborhood (”This time, it was just your car that got torched on the street”).
Would you like some (French) Fries with with that Car-B-Q?
Doesn't "feugo" mean "fire"?
Violent French youth torching cars? Tsk, tsk.
I can’t believe that Yves and Jean-Pierre and other teens are out there doing these things. I’m shocked, just shocked.
Gonna cut off your head
What your Koran said
Gonna come at last
Now your cars are
All burning fast
