EAST POINT, Ga. A Georgia couple says they're still in shock after they were the target of racism at a popular local restaurant.
A U.S. Army sergeant major just back from Kuwait and his wife went to Spondivits in East Point on New Year's Day, but what they found on their key ring when they got home left them deeply hurt.
"I shouldn't have to feel this way," said Candea Aarons.
When Candea and her husband Sam got home they noticed the tag left by the man who they say valet parked their car, with the words "jungle fever," a derogatory slur used to describe interracial couples.
"We have never been so blatantly described in such a blatantly appalling manner ever," Candea Aarons said.
Aarons said the ugly message left her and her husband deeply hurt.

The valet, who is black, has been fired.
[ Sorry, Grace. I was writing my reply when you posted.
This was on the news last night. They showed the valet tag and it was clear that “Jungle Fever” was written in the same hand and at the same time as the make of auto.
The news report also stated that the valet was black. ]
Black racism at it’s finest...
No boob belt.
oh such dainty little flowers deeply wounded by someone being an ass
believe me I put up with people being an ass daily
I'm so fed up with the word police. Sometimes when people have free speech they'll say dumb stuff. Live with it.
A misunderstanding arose at work a few months back, during the Zimmerman trial. After Rachel's testimony, my feelings were hurt, so much I went directly to my friend's office, a personage of the black persuasion.
I told him, "I thought we were friends." He had a befuddled look on his face, and nodded affirmatively.
"Then how come you've never called me a 'creepy azz Cracka?'"
We still laugh about it.
I know it happens, but I didn’t think this combination would generate this kind of reaction/incident.
I never saw a dress like that in an officer's club. In the old days, her husband's career would have been over.
I spent a lot of time in NCO clubs, too, enjoying adult beverages at the invitation of my NCOs. Never saw a dress like that, either.
To be fair, I was discharged nearly 30 years ago.
He now qualifies for 99 weeks of unemployment...I smell a set-up.

Even if this is real.... and not a hoax... BFD!!! Keep your mouth shut and move on with life. You suffered no bodily injury but your poor widdle feelings were hurt like a five year old? Get over yourselves.
I think these two birds are faking it. Here is a race discrimination scam that police chief Moose (remember him?) pulled off to the tune of $200,000
http://archives.starbulletin.com/2003/08/08/news/story12.html Moose sought a financial settlement this year from Marriott International Inc. after alleging that he was a victim of racial discrimination while staying at JW Marriott Ihilani resort in Ko Olina, the Post reported, citing a source who was briefed on the incident at the heart of the allegations.
The source did not know how much Marriott paid, but said Moose and his wife requested the company give them $200,000 to avoid a lawsuit.
Moose, his wife and Relman declined comment.
“He did stay with us in Hawaii. An issue arose inadvertently during his stay. We resolved it,” Marriott spokesman Tom Marder said in a statement. “Beyond that, there isn’t more that we can discuss.”
Late in December, Moose flew with his wife to the Oahu hotel to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary.
Sources familiar with the allegations told the newspaper that the chief wandered into an unfinished area reserved for employees and was confronted by a hotel employee. When Moose was asked to produce proof he was a guest at the hotel, in the form of a room key, an argument ensued, the sources told the Post.
The details of the exchange have not been publicly disclosed.
In a letter to a Marriott executive, a source told the newspaper, the Mooses threatened to sue over what they considered discriminatory behavior at the Hawaii resort.
Moose asked for $100,000 for himself and $100,000 for his wife to compensate them for “suffering” and “distress,” the Post reported.
Two things; This is something that could and should be handled face to face with the manager. No one was physically bruised, sorry bout those feelings, but the whole world need not stop to genuflect before you because of some bad behavior. Second thing; Her “classy” gown. That’s mild, you should have seen some of the Fredericks of Hollywood sold in Ohio and Michigan years ago, pre-Victoria’s Secret. They advertised in the back of most magazines and tabloids back then.
That’s correct. In couple’s counseling if one person says the other one “makes me feel like...”, they are told that they control their own emotions.
So that big white guy is actually black?
Sans boob belt. Gotta have the boob belt.
He worked for a company that was contracted by the restaurant. It was on the local news hers.
