WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon repeatedly waived laws banning Chinese-built components on U.S. weapons in order to keep the $392 billion Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 fighter program on track in 2012 and 2013, even as U.S. officials were voicing concern about China's espionage and military buildup.

According to Pentagon documents reviewed by Reuters, chief U.S. arms buyer Frank Kendall allowed two F-35 suppliers, Northrop Grumman Corp and Honeywell International Inc, to use Chinese magnets for the new warplane's radar system, landing gears and other hardware. Without the waivers, both companies could have faced sanctions for violating federal law and the F-35 program could have faced further delays.

with the purge of the military the pentagon is full of over-paid spineless ass-kissing traitor bastards who would order soldiers to fire on American citizen just to keep their paychecks. they are as corrupt as the rest of the FFFG.
and it pains me as a veteran to say that.

The Chinese bought up all the high strength rare earth magnet patents and have placed all the American inventors under lucrative and/or draconian contacts forbidding them from further research in ways to improve upon those patents.

They have also arranged fro all US rare earth mines to have insurmountable EPA problems, or had the land declared off limits as world heritage sites or other such artifices.

All under US laws...

“contacts” should be “contracts”.

These are called “non-compete” contracts. When push comes to shove courts will generally rule that a company cannot deny a person their means of livelihood. Generally.

There was another thread, a few days ago, about the Super Success of the F 35.
The F 35 is a joke, fiasco, illusion and utter failure.
If the US needs an F 35, we will have to buy one from the Chinese.

Free Traitors would label those that call for our own defense systems to be manufactured in America by Americans instead of in Red China as dirty rotten communists.

Complete idiocy. At the unclassified level, they have learned nothing from previous debacles.

“I bet the Chinese required factory reps install the parts. “

It is SOP for a manufacturer to provide complete plans for a product in order to have that product manufactured in china.

That is the reason GE returned it’s manufacturing to Louisville.

What do you wanna bet they now have complete plans for the
F35. Or at least every subsystem incorporating the magnets required.

Shades of Loral Space Industries helping them along with ballistic logistics!

The F35 center of gravity is in my hood at Eglin AFB.

The F22 Raptor is a superior aircraft in my ignorant opinion.

The F35 is an attempt to be all things to all markets.

Amazing. Someone point to the Constitutional provision where an EXECUTIVE BRANCH agency (in this case the Department of Defense) can “waive” the law.
