Oh, I resisted for a very long time. I can’t claim to be a coffee traditionalist, really, thanks to my preference for flavored coffee. My father likes to scoff at me for that whenever he visits out here, but I like the real thing as well. I drink it straight, no cream or sweetener whether flavored or not, and I brew it in large pots, totally full, every single time. And most days I drink all of it, too.
All of that changed when my sister bought us a Keurig system for Christmas this week while visiting out here. Specifically, she bought the Keurig K65 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System (which in my old aerospace days would have the acronym KSEGSCHBS), along with the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter. Within hours, I had banished my old coffeemaker to storage — in part because I needed the space, but also because it had already become obsolete.

Wow - looking through the other posts I see people have had bad luck. BUt ours is almost 7 years old.
Anyway, ours makes an average of 5 cups per day for the past 6 years. Had to replace one part about 6 months ago. (The thingy that punctures the k-cups) But besides that, we have’t had any problems
My son has one and likes it. I didn’t care for the flavors. (I like 100% Colombian brew.)
It is convenient and fast but not cheap. It costs $1 per cup and you had best prefer flavored coffees.
Got my wife one for Xmas. Love it.

Great coffee. You go through a box of cups quickly and they ain’t cheap.
I like the Donut House Cups.
The filter cup is a pain to use and clean.
We’ve had ours for almost two years and the pump is making a suspicious groaning sound but it still works.
There’s three types. We have the K-cups, there’s the Vue-cups which I think brew bigger cups and the Revo system which is like an espresso system. I don’t know if they have a machine that lets you use both the k-cups and the Vue-cups.
It makes a great consistent cup of coffee with almost limitless styles of coffee cups. Get the machine that lets you have the most settings for cup size as well as water temp.
The iced tea is great as well.
Did I mention the cups are expensive in the long run?
So, somebody gave me a pack of French Roast k-cups they got for Christmas instead of French Vanilla. I've been cutting off the top and dumping it into the Melitta for use with electric kettle I got for Christmas.

I find Keurig coffee a bit weak for my tastes, YMMV.
Makes no difference to me. I can get all those cups FREE via couponing.

As far as full flavor, nothing beats a Bodum coffee press.

Traditionally we have gone through coffee pots one or two a year, because its always going at my house. If the pot has sat for more than 15 minutes or so, we dump and make it fresh.
So we go through a lot of coffee.
Got the Keurig. Its always fresh. We experimented with the pre-filled cups, which are expensive. Got the filters. Making it one cup at a time, we could afford to experiment with gourmet coffees, specialty coffees. After going through all that, we’re back to our old favorite brand.
But we’re happy with it. We bought someone a similar coffee-maker of a different brand but its too slow. The Keurig is fast enough you don’t mind the wait.
I got a Nespresso as a free gift. Similar in concept to a Kuerig. I use it mostly for office visitors. I keep about 20 different flavors on hand and people can pick what they want. When you buy in bulk the cost is around 65 cents a cup. I really like it, but it doesn’t replace my fresh ground drip coffee in the morning, though.
I got one for Christmas and I do not like it. I like a big cup of extra strong Columbian coffee at each sitting, and the little pre-filled cups make either a tiny cup of coffee or a weak bigger cup.
I got the refill basket to fill my own which I make stronger and better, but it’s still a pain to reload for each cup. As of New Years day, I went back to making my usual full pot of coffee.
I’m with you on the french press. Cheap, fast, and the coffeit makes is as good or better than any other way. And you don’t have to plug it in.
