Rubbish. All you need is a french press and a bag of ground Sumatra dark coffee (Starbucks or Peets) from the supermarket. Perfect, rich but not bitter coffee every time.I do about this same. Why would anyone want to pay more for coffee that is doled out in portion controlled sizes? I don't even use a press half the time. Small pot of 8-10oz boiling water. Put 1-2 tbsp coffee in. Turn down to simmer for a few minutes. Pour into cup through fine strainer and drink black no sugar. This will work for 1-8 people on up

In principle, a package sealed until point of use will offer more freshness than one which remains open for days or weeks. This sounds like a status bragging fight.
