It’s wonderful that he is living as he chooses.

That said, I think this whole EMP thing is way over rated. The idea that one high altitude burst would fry every electronic device and all electrical power in the US is just Bunk.
I have been flamed here by “experts” over this. But I still say Bunk.
Close family was in the weapons business at a high level for 40 years. I “trust” that assessment, which was given to me.

Same here. Worked with DOE/NNSA/OST. Hundreds of nukes exploded in US, thousands around the globe, even at high altitude. Number of neigborhoods, communities, people who "went dark" and reverted to 19th century style living: ZERO. The only thing that could cause an EMP burst to be that damaging would be the (this is 2009 intel) the dozen or so SS-18 Satan ICBMs MOD 1 and 6 IIRC were capable of either a 25MT airburst, or more likely, to kill LCC (Launch Control Centers) of the Minuteman III fields of ours.
SUPPOSEDLY the Mod 6 SS-18 ICBMS were taken offline. You need a BIG nuke to do the type of EMP damage that all the doomsdayers are saying. IRAN, Norks, China do NOT have that type of capability* (*yet).

Been awhile since I read the book, but I think it tossed out the idea of an 80% die off within a few weeks, mainly do the the break in the medication chain.
The book to me was very thought provoking. After reading it I passed it along to finds and family

Good for you, it’s something I should be doing but I’m not. Keep doing it, because you never know....
