Tears indeed would be wasted on the coarse commentators that follow on to something like this.
They won’t be wasted on God, however.
God himself only knows where her heart is, but her own story, what little of it is here, seems telling to me. She may have been playing out a story which had appeared in her own life. She hated because she had learned hatred and thought in her sin that it was the right thing to do.
This could well be sincere. Hold the hoots and the catcalls please, and put your cynicism back on its dog leash. AFAIK, too little time has passed for any judgment to be made on the meaning of this.
As I said yesterday, it would be an act of humility and class to voluntarily take a couple of weeks off without pay to demonstrate her sincerity. Not place to judge, but mere words flow pretty readily in situations like this.
It’s not matter of forgiving. That’s easy. It’s a matter of consequence that needs to be fulfilled regardless. That still needs to take place.
This isn’t the first time she’s ridiculed someone because of race.
She did EXACTLY what she wanted to do.
She is only sad because she got busted for doing it.
She is in an organization she likes.
