Several drivers were reprimanded for praying with that coworker, after she lost a child. In response to that -- they're praying even more.

On December 16, a 12-year-old girl was struck by a car as she walked home from school in north Harris County. She would later die from her injuries. She was the daughter of an HISD bus driver, whose coworkers rallied around her.

Give power to imbeciles, you get imbeciles with power.

The right answer is to push back and not back down. As these folks are doing.

However, they are wrong to want it off their record. They should ask for copies and frame them and hang them over the mantle.

Well?...Even in Texas, what does one expect coming from a single-payer, socialist-entitlement, and **godless** government school?

Please remember that nearly every teacher, principal, and superintendent in this nation was trained by godless Marxists in Marxist run colleges and universities.

These schools can’t be reformed. They must be abolished.

This is why conservatives need to be in the seats of power.

I’m telling you TX is liberal now; these schools boards are “nonpartisan”, and mostly liberals run and win the seats. Look at Cornball and George P. coasting to victory without much obstacle at all. Central cities are all liberal though Fort Worth is more conservative than the others. Demos would still run the state had they not lost their big majorities in East Texas.

As news of the tragedy spread among the community of HISD school bus drivers, they spontaneously prayed for one of their own who was grieving. They joined not holding hands, but by using a back channel on the bus radio system

Very nice.

“This is in Texas for petes sake.”

This is what happens when libtards destroy their own states and flee to red states. Keep telling people Texas sucks, racist, full of guns etc so lib a-holes won’t move and ruin the state.

However, it is reasonable to point out that they weren’t disciplined for praying, but for using school property for private purposes.

A quite arguably praiseworthy private purpose, but certainly it wasn’t school district business.

"but certainly it wasn’t school district business."

I would argue that it WAS school business. For if we take prayer seriously and think of it as a real means to an end (in this case God's blessings for peace and support for a driver's family and future safety for all the drivers and students on the buses)....instead of just thinking of prayer as a mere symbolic action, then it was actually an extension of their work day and very real.

Their actions were indisputably using school equipment for non-school business. This is equally indisputably a violation of appropriate school policy.

So what they (and you) are asking for is a waiver of enforcement of school policy because intentions were good.

That is very different from the article’s claim that they were punished for praying.

BTW, I tend to agree that an exception would be appropriate in this case, but let’s at least recognize that’s what it is.

Those involved are apparently mostly of the high-melanin variety, so they’ll probably get a pass. A lot less tolerance out there for religiosity by melanin-deficient Americans.

Remember when Congress sang “God Bless America” on the steps of the Capital and called for prayer after 9-11?

Below is a link to a message by Jerry Leachman, the former chaplain for the Washington Redskins and presently the chaplain for Fox News. It last around 50 minutes and is called Big Boy Talk. It is a must hear.

For Pete’s sake, can’t some things be overlooked, just for the sake of human kindness and common sense? I guess not anymore. Very sad...
