But Republicans could turn it back on Dems by pointing out that it is Dems bragging about how good the Obama economy is.

Dems are claiming the economy is good while demanding these endless benefits because of bad economy.

I have been saying the same thing for months now - if the economy is so good why do unemployment benefits need to be extended and why is the fed creating $75 BILLION (down from $85 billion) a month to "Stimulate" it? WAKE UP AMERICA you are being taken as the most gullible folk on the planet by your elected leaders.

IMHO the answer is easy - the unemployment is needed to supplement the welfare that now requires no work - the clown illegal REWRITING the law - and the fed continues to inflate the money supply in order to destroy the wealth of the senior who live off fixed incomes.

Republicans don't seem very good at pointing out these obvious contradictions in Dem talking points.

The Dems seem to think this is an easy win issue for them but the more they talk about it the more they trash their Obama economy.

The debate over this long term unemployment problem led me to understand why many employers want immigrants when there seem to be plenty of Americans out of work.

I believe it is because new immigrants are willing to go where the jobs are in US (like here near DC) , where-as the long term unemployed have roots and maybe a house worth less than they bought it for. They wont move till they have to.

That needs to be thrown up in their faces, again and again.

Is the stupid party up to that. Based on the past, no.

Republicans must demand approval of keystone pipeline and open up all areas to drilling/fracking etc create thousands of American jobs and deal a severe blow to the Middle East in one fell swoop but Obama and his leftist wackoos will have none of it....
