The political network spearheaded by conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch has expanded into a far-reaching operation of unrivaled complexity, built around a maze of groups that cloaks its donors, according to an analysis of new tax returns and other documents.

The filings show that the network of politically active nonprofit groups backed by the Kochs and fellow donors in the 2012 elections financially outpaced other independent groups on the right and, on its own, matched the long-established national coalition of labor unions that serves as one of the biggest sources of support for Democrats.

The makeup of the coalition of conservative groups, as of 2012.

The resources and the breadth of the organization make it singular in American politics: an operation conducted outside the campaign finance system, employing an array of groups aimed at stopping what its financiers view as government overreach. Members of the coalition target different constituencies but together have mounted attacks on the new health-care law, federal spending and environmental regulations.

The poor PinkoCommieLibDems™ are frustrated because they can't figure out how to ostracize and punish the donors.

Full disclosure undermines secret ballots.

Of course, there is absolutely no anxiety on the part of the Leftist NYT when public sector unions give millions to Democrat campaigns, so Democrats can vote such unions handsome contracts....classic money laundering that has gone on for decades.

Someone needs to talk to the Koch brothers and let them know the damage that has been done to this country by illegals. I’m surprised they are funding the US Chamber of Commerce.

You will NOT have Heaven on Earth!

Just cuz we all want Tea Party Conservatives in charge, doesn’t mean we’re in a position to evict all RINOs without the Dems swooping in and killing the country before we can rescue it.

Rino’s vote with us at least half the time.
Liberals NEVER do.

All tax exempt organizations are required by law to publish their tax returns. Although I’d be surprised if organizations on the left actually have to abide by that law under the current regime.

I did not know that. Being left-wing, liberal on social issues kind of takes most of the attention, wherewithal, not leaving much left over for right wing causes. So what makes them the vaunted right-wing conservative champions that’s got Wapo all riled up about?

I guess the Washington Post hates the fact that the Koch brothers also oppose big government spending.
