On average, the high temperatures are getting higher, and the lows are getting higher too. Global warming is as real and serious as ever, it's just exceedingly gradual compared with the dramatic temperature swings that are still part of living in midlatitudes in winter.

So the media states that Polar vortex causes global cooling AND global warming. Which is it? Or is it both?

I actually had an employee that used to rage at me like that. She actually bit me once. She talked exactly like that:
“HELLO? ESKIMOS? DO ANY OF YOU RIGHT WINGERS REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID TO THE ESKIMOS?”
And then she’d just sort of nod her steamy little head as if she’d made a brilliant point.
I can remember the articles saying you can’t base prediction on a year’s worth of data. Now if you had 10 years, then you could trend the data.
Now they have moved on to the models are right and the observations are wrong.
