This does not sound like Senator Jeanne Shaheen is unconcerned about her re-election prospects in New Hampshire.
Maureen Mooney told the Granite Status the Affordable Care Act was by far the dominant issue in what she said was a 19-minute the survey.
Mooney said she was asked to assess on a scale of zero to 100 not only Shaheen, but also Brown, Rubens, Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Gov. Maggie Hassan.
She said she was asked twice to assess Shaheen and Brown, and was asked to assess Shaheen after being told that the senator supported the Affordable Care Act because of X, Y and Z.
Thats pretty significant; it suggests that the Democratic Senator is getting hammered in popular opinion over Obamacare big shock, that and is trying to find some magic spell framing that will neutralize the damage. Mind you, it is not yet entirely clear that there is any way to neutralize the damage, but I suppose that we cannot reasonably expect Senator Shaheen to simply accept the inevitable gracefully and lose with some dignity. Standards have slipped so in the Democratic party, of late
Seriously, this is a little odd. Shaheen has been enjoying a healthy lead over her likely opponents lately, albeit one where shes hovering just around 50%. Its starting to look like Obamacare may be a bit more literally corrosive to Democratic electoral prospects than the Democrats might care to admit
The sacrifices will be delivered via golf cart to their Dear Leader on the course as he meticulously lines up a 15 foot putt, grinding his teeth as he, impatiently and increasingly angrily, awaits the other members of his group to declare it a "gimme."
“Come on, Flounder. You can’t worry forever about your mistakes. You ****ed up. You trusted us. Make the best of it.”
“What I want to make clear about my support of the Affordable Care Act is... look! Over there! That bright shiny object! It’s income inequality!”
Perhaps these liberals should re-frame the question...oh I dunno, something like, “it has been said if you don’t like Obamacare that means you are racist. Why do you hate black people?” You know the old Democrat trick of attacking the person who criticizes their policies.
Six months after renaming and retitling ObamaCare, the communists will start denouncing it as a Republican disaster. And, since they don't care about people, the communists will demand ObamaCare’s repeal and replacement with a single payer system.
As one FReeper posted, there is no amount of lipstick you can put on this pig to make it presentable.
“If you like your light bulbs you can keep your light bulbs!”
(Of course the infamous Chinese light bulb scandal was initiated during the Bush II administration.)
Shaheen should be worried. She’s a Republican in a blue state. Of all the 2016 incumbents she’s got to be considered one of the most vulnerable.
Since most voters are primarily concerned with how legislation affects them personally, any attempts to mitigate the damage caused by Obamacare is doomed. Sure, in a vacuum, it’s all well and good that more poor people will get covered, as will those with pre-existing conditions. But when your OWN premiums double and your deductible quadruples, and your favorite doctor is now unavailable, you really aren’t going to focus on the indigent or the medically unfortunate. Throw in the fact that you’ve been lied to about it on a daily basis for five years, and you are going to see some mighty unhappy voters in 2014.
“...you are going to see some mighty unhappy voters in 2014.”
We’re also going to see a lot of voters who are either newly signed up for Medicaid, receiving Obamacare subsidies or dependent on continuing unemployment benefits. There’s a reason that the Democrats are harping on “income inequality”, they are determined to energize the “Free-Government-Sh*t” base for the midterms.
The future of Obamacare and our Republic depend on productive citizens voting in 2014 and the Republican party for once making an effort to mitigate fraudulent voting.
When did Shaheen switch party's?
“ObamaCare...now we’ll understand why Canadians are so ornery”.
My bad. I was thinking of Ayotte.
After reading so many of these stories about stupid liberal women, I have almost become immune to them. Can’t we find something positive to write about, perhaps people with a brain?
I hate Shaheen. Just a sleezy liberal.
And you don’t even consider the phony minimum wage BS!!!
I got the same call , I gave shaheen the lowest grade I could, but scott brown and ayotte weren’t far behind . The poor poll taker had a rough twenty mins.
These politicians thing this is a TACTICAL situation... IT’S NOT!
