A grieving mother and father are asking for the publics help after their 21-year-old son was gunned down while trying to break up a fight at a pre-baptism party...
A number of fights broke out during that party, according to police. The first fight broke out over food and a lack of proper utensils. Police say that lead to an argument between one of the party guests and a kitchen helper.

Ha...brought back memories for me. My dad also NYPD in the fifties and I remember as a little tyke him coming home and putting his snub nose .38 on top of his tall dresser in the bedroom. He was a detective by then.
“The variable is the character of those who are armed.”
That’s what made me nervous about the people advocating arming all the teachers.
Yup.
Guns are just a tool, they can be used for good or evil, like any other tool.
I prefer post-baptism parties.
As do I.
Recently went to a Bible study and and afterwards a retired 60ish year school teacher, petite little thing, was talking about her preference in concealed weapons.
I’m Irish too - Proud conservative Wild Turkey drinker here. (One of many apparently). So why are you’re focusing on the wrong word? The key word was “asshole”. ;)
I prefer post-baptism parties that are not held at 4am in Miami.
Haitian family. “Pre-baptism party” at 0400 hrs. It probably involved a voodoo ceremony for the kid, preceding its Christening.

Heh. I suspect that this crowd doesn't often have the opportunity to throw graduation parties.
What’s really bad is we let these people vote....
We are becoming, or have become, the Jerry Springer show, as a country.
&&&
You are so right.
Didn’t the re-election of Obama give you a clue or hint as to that.
Not if your intent is to get drunk and act a fool!!!
IMO both words are important. One can be drunk without being an a$$hole and one can be an a$$hole without being drunk. However,my 20+ years of experience working in a big city ER qualifies me to assure you that there's a very close, and very important, association between acts of violence and being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Nobody really advocates arming “all the teachers”. I work with teachers and I would trust most of them to be armed and the rest as long as I was also armed. But arming teachers is a self-limiting proposition. The most liberal wouldn’t want to be armed for a variety of reasons like fear of guns or accidentally firing them. Some would oppose them because they are pacifists. Thus most armed teachers would be conservative and would therefore be smart enough to not use them unwisely. You might get the occasional jihadist but other armed teachers would likely be able to prevent that from being too big.
Yep. We've passed the tipping point. It's their country now. I'm not holding out any hope for a conservative President in 2016. The Jerry Springer class is just going to give us another Obama. They've got the numbers.
I imagine at some point in the near future you'll find me sitting on a lawn chair in my front yard, beer in one hand and a rifle in the other, watching the whole place burn.
It was fun while it lasted...
It was fun while it lasted...
I think "Back to the Future 2", where Marty returns to a dystopian 1985 ruled by Biff, gives us a glimpse.
